Just bought a 2020 ram limited with 64k and the bumper to bumper warranty, it’s making a noise when turning and a binding in the wheel, I’ve seen a few posts here and Reddit about it and can’t seem to nail down the issue, dealer is trying to claim it’s normal and doesn’t seem to want to look into it a whole lot, I’m also having a lane sense issue where every few days it says service lane sense and then goes away like 15mins later. They are currently trying to figure out the lane sense but are saying there is no codes and are trying to claim the binding is normal so I’m not really holding my breath. Getting super frustrated because it feels like the dealer doesn’t care after coming out of pocket for the broken headlight and mirror that they didn’t disclose at time of purchase. I’ll link my Reddit post below with a video of the noise. If anyone has advice on how to either address the dealer or suggestion on this problem it would be greatly appreciated. Hoping someone in here can help me with some advice or @RamCares reaches out. Really disappointed bc this is my first big purchase

Have they checked the alignment?

Usually binding and noise when turning can be nailed down to either CV joints or struts. I check to see if the one or both of the boots are torn.
Any binding is not normal. Tell them if they refuse you’ll start a claim with BBB. Guy at the service counter is not a mechanic. They are only when its to discredit a customers claims.

you’ll start a claim with BBB

That's like saying you'll leave them a bad review on Yelp. BBB is a private company that cannot enforce anything, and is practically worthless. If I was a shady dealership, I would invite them to go right ahead, I might even let them use my computer. When was the last time *you* checked reviews on BBB before going to a business?

I checked both the cv and shock and there was nothing, no grease from the cv joints and its the air ride suspension but there isn't any rubbing on the fender liner or anything, I also checked if there was any markings on the knuckles and the control arms and nothing there as well. I believe it may be the EPS module or something to do with that system but I have no way to prove it. I do plan to make a report with the bbb and the attorney general if nothing comes of it and maybe even meeting with a Lemmon law lawyer but im just not sure yet. It seems like they are also lost with the Lane sense issue. Shop forman drove it home last night and on the way into work it threw the code but when he got in he said it wasn't showing anything when he had the tech scan it. As far as the steering tho I told them there was a TSB that relates to my issue (TSB 19-001-21) and they mentioned they flashed the truck but the TSB that I found that includes a flash only mentions right turns (TSB 08-137-21). Not fully sure what my next steps are going to be. Thank you for the advice!

No, maybe Im missing something but im not sure what an alignment would fix for steering binding and this noise, I linked a Reddit post on my original post with a video of the noise and it sounds like ****. I slang tires when I was 16-18 and my original thought was the tires were rubbing but there are no signs of that. and they are stock wheels and tires

Any normal turn, or does it seem like slow turns in a parking lot? There is an issue with the electric steering making noises that supposedly a software update fixes.

It’s usually slower turns, like parking lot speeds but also pulling into driveways, they said they flashed it but from what I was reading that issue only is with right turns, mine happens with left and right but hopefully that fixed it

I've seen people mention both ways, but majority seem to be right. Mine does it on rights, but since I've lifted and new tires, so far nothing. I also seen someone mentioned worn tires make it more noticeable.

Not sure if the noise is front or back, mine was making one in the back and ended up being my rear differential. It is now being rebuilt. I initially thought it was a bad bearing. I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Limited.

My former 2019 Laramie made an odd groaning sound and they wound up replacing the rack under warranty.
