I have a 2020 Built to Serve edition. I got a recall letter saying the improper springs where installed. Ram will install 4 new springs 1" taller. But I have a 2" leveling kit installed. If I installed the new springs that will be about 3" up in the front. Will that harm anything will the joints in the front.

Following. I have the Ready Lift 3.5 kit installed. Curious to know as well.

I think that would be pushing it. I have the springs that you'll get after the recall combined with 1.5" leveling spacers up front. I'm BARELY still within alignment spec. My lower A-arms have gouges in them from where the knuckle now strikes it during full steer left or right. There is a knocking sound when a tire drops into a pot hole, presumably from the upper A-arm hitting the coil spring. Clearly I'm at the max lift that's safe to use without modifying other components.

I have the same problem with the springs on ram 1500 built to serve edition. It is under factory recall which I got a letter in the mail for but when I called to get it fixed, I found out Chrysler doesn't make the proper springs and don't know when/if it will ever be fixed. It causes premature tire ware and I've even had a minor accident with it. Also wheel scrub when u turn it and yet nothing can be done. Has anyone else had this problem?

This has been discussed in full on the built to serve thread.. they will replace for th ORG springs is th only difference. So depending on you lift kit you can possibly get 3in
I had mine installed b4 the recall through the dealership and put eibach adjustable shocks and I’m sitting at 40in all around. Truck sits perfectly leveled

Sorry, I’m new. But, I have a 2020 Built to Serve that I purchased new in February 2020. Early this year, before the recall letter showed up at my house, I had my truck in for an oil change and they completed the recall for the coil springs. Ever since, I’ve noticed that when I hit bumps going down the freeway, my truck seems to want to either over extend the suspension to the hard stop half the time or it will just bounce up and down 5-6 times before settling, and driving up here in Michigan, the roads are uneven and it essentially doesn’t ever stop bouncing up and down. This also makes it extremely difficult to keep control of the truck when going over a transition between pavement and a bridge/overpass with a slight/sharp curve. It’s obvious at all speeds but the faster I drive, the worse the suspension is. I’ve taken it to the dealer that put the springs on as well as another dealer and they all say it rides “normal” and has the correct parts used, however it did not handle like this before the recall was performed and I currently have 57k miles on the truck. 38k miles driven pre-recall. I’ve bottomed out/over extended my suspension several times in parking garages and on the freeway.
Has anyone experienced this, if so, how did you get it taken care of? Ram Care told me to deal with the dealer who installed it. The dealership was no help at all.
I could be wrong, but usually when you install larger springs on a vehicle, shouldn’t you use longer shocks, shock adapters, or a shock with a different compression ratio to make up for the difference?

I just had the recall springs put on a month ago. When i got it back i noticed the exact same thing you did. A whole lot bouncier. I called the dealer that did the service and told them. They said it will probably be stiffer since it’s new coils. I told them, no, it’s not stiff, it’s bouncy. It feels like im driving my boat on the water. It’s riding 100% on the springs and the shocks are doing absolutely nothing. They said to bring it in and they’ll take a look. I got it back today. They said all the parts are in working order and that it is “normal”. In their report, they wrote down that they test drove other new trucks to compare how they felt compared to my truck. They had the audacity to to write in the report that my truck felt “stiffer” than the other brand new trucks. They concluded that the new coil springs are stiffer than the ones originally installed. Which makes no sense to me seeing as how truck feels like it’s a boat on rough seas. Im not mad about how it drives. I tolerate it. But it does bug me that they put in the report that it drives stiffer. Which i know is 100% bull crap. When i first dropped it off, i took the technician on a test drive and he felt it immediately just in the park lot. And said, “yeah i feel that, somethings wrong with it.” And didn’t even want to leave the park lot because he could tell right away it was bouncy. If you get any other info please let me know.

I had the same issue, I got my recall done April of 2022 , I wish I didn’t. My truck is like driving a boat on the water. Beware, I have to replace my struts now from all the bouncing, they are shot. Unfortunately nothing is covered.

Springs don't cause the bounce, it is the struts/shocks job to prevent/dampen the bounce.

I would think you would need to change the UCAs if they put taller springs. I guess you could say you don’t want them too

The issue is/was some of the BTS were assembled with incorrect springs, non ORG springs. They replaced the springs with the correct ones for ORG.
