2020 Ram Bighorn 5.7L 64,000 miles Original owner, no accidents or issues so far.
I'm driving to work on Friday morning. About 5:30 am. Its raining hard, pitch black and I'm on a country road doing about 55mph ish probably a little slower but wasn't paying that much attention.
Out of nowhere the truck just dies. No engine, no electrical and the worse thing was no headlights. I couldn't see a darn thing.
I managed to get the truck to a stop without rolling into the ditch. Once stopped I had to open my door to see where in the heck I was on or off the roadway. Turns out I was dead center in the middle of the lane.
My hazards did work and the dome lights did kick on when I opened the door but that was all I had for electrical. At first the dash displayed the press brake and push ignition start just like it does every time I get in the truck but then that went way to. Nothing on the shifter knob either.
I call a for a tow and have to wait 40 minutes and thought for sure I was going to get hit even with the flashers on.
Driver pulls the lanyard for the e brake but the truck will not roll. He has to drag it up on the flat bed.
Later after multiple calls to my lousy dealership they inform me that they can't get the truck into a bay to look at it. They have jump packs on it but it will start and die within a second or two. They have to have a special tow company come in to get the truck into a bay to diagnose it on Monday. Rear wheels will not roll/e brake will not disengage I assume.
Anyone had any issues like this? It was quite freaky to go black out at 55 mph.
This truck is not equipped with E-torque or start/stop feature like I have been reading about. (so many problems)
