This is a thread to share information on replacing the screen in a first model year uconnect 8.4 nav system. Mine was delaminating bad, and the touch was starting to not work sometimes. I could not find any good info on the internet, nor in reading comments on ebay or amazon. I bought a screen that was supposed to work with 2019 rams but was completely different than what my truck actually used. I made the mistake so you don’t have to! I did not get a ton of pictures, but did do the job and it turned out great and works 100%. I wanted to get some info out there and some pics of the screen and part numbers to help someone else out there tackling this. I am in IT and have fixed many a laptop so this was a breeze for me, but those better with a hammer than a scalpel may want to let a pro do the job. Ill be here to answer questions and leave a link to the amazon screen I used. Pics of the install and old delaminating screen.

Do you know if this screen will also work for the non-nav system?

Im not 100% sure, but the other style screen is just 1 ribbon connector vs the 3 ribbon connectors mine has. The best bet is the pull the center trim (easy 2 screws) and then pull the metal cover off the back (4 screws) and you can see the screen type. I would recommend using some good masking tape on the dash parts around the center trim as the center trim has many clips, some sharp and its easy to scratch the dash if your not careful when unplugging the connectors.
