The past few weeks I’ve been having a check engine light come on and off. I used my scanner and read the code to be P0308 which is a Cylinder 8 misfire.

I took it to my mechanic hoping it would be something not too serious, spark plugs or coils etc. They think it is a deeper issue, there is a ticking coming from that side of the engine on cold start and revs and they put a stethoscope on it and are hearing it deep in there from the Cylinder 8 location.

That type of work they do not do so I need to take it to another shop they recommended or the dealership. However my PowerTerrain warranty is expired so it won’t be covered. My mechanic did recommend trying to push on Dodge since I am under the 60k miles and not far over the year expiration. Not sure if that would work.

TLDR; My question is, how bad of an issue is this seeming to be? Or how expensive and serious is this?

Any help or advice is appreciated, I’m a bit stressed over this.
