2019 Ram Rebel Brake Failure

I got in my new 2019 Rebel yesterday morning with less than 2000 miles on it and the brake pedal went all the way to the floor. The fluid is good, I checked. Has anyone experienced this with their 5th Gen Ram? Any idea what it could be? I have a service appt scheduled for Monday but until my truck is out of commission. My first FCA product and I’m hoping I’m not going to regret my decision to buy it.

You should probably get that towed in.

I still have brakes at the very bottom of the pedal and the dealer is only about 2 miles away. I thought about have it towed but given the distance I think I can safely get it there.

Don't chance it.
And god forbid it "fixes itself" somehow on the way there and the tech "can't reproduce it" and they hand you back that truck after barely looking at it, then it happens to you again only this time it's too late?
Tow it. Show them you are not f**king around, it happened, yes it happened, no you aren't driving it, and they need to examine it until they find out why.

What happened to you is not normal, not okay, they absolutely need to make it right. Not worth your safety or others.

I would call and insist they have it towed in. If you are stubborn enough, they will do it.

Get it towed, do not attemp to drive it. My wife's SUV had brake booster failure ones, brake pedal would go all the way with hissing sound and no brakes. I had so much fun replacing it and bleading an entire brake line but saved over $600 by DIY out of warranty.

On another note, If you drive it with a known brake problem and then have an accident, whether your fault or not, your insurance company may not cover it. I would not take that chance on your safety or anyone else’s.
 
Truck is safely at the dealer and loaner ram from my sales guy. Told him if they can’t find a logical reason this happened my Ram ownership will be short lived. Love this Rebel but won’t be bothered with problems on a $56000 truck.

Sounds like a problem with the master cylinder. Hopefully the dealership will get you all fixed up.

Dealer diagnosed the problem as a bad master cylinder. They had to order the part and I’ve been waiting patiently. Certainly not what one expects for a $56K truck. First America vehicle made vehicle we've owned in over 30 years and hope we don’t regret buying it.

Not to be picky, but were all those other vehicles you bought over 30 years made out of the USA or were the manufacturers just foreign owned and the vehicles were made here in the USA.

That’s a good point. We began buying bmw Z cars (z3s and Z4s in 2000 but before that Toyota’s and Honda’s. So the Z cars are made manufactured in SC so what I stated wasn’t totally accurate. I’ve also owned several mini coopers made in the UK. I love my Rebel and I hope the issue is the last one we have.
