Hey everyone,
Yesterday my tailgate randomly got stuck and wouldn’t close properly. After removing it, I noticed the left-side hinge had a broken plastic piece or bushing.
I'm assuming the hinge needs to be replaced entirely, but I’m not sure if that bushing comes pre-installed with the hinge, or if it needs to be purchased separately. Is this a common failure with these hinges?
I found a parts diagram (attached) showing the older part number 68312519AD, which appears to include a bushing. The newer part 68534375AA looks a bit different and maybe simpler. So I’m wondering:
– Does the newer version include the bushing?
– Or do I need to buy it separately?
Also, would it be a good idea to replace both hinges just to be safe?
Appreciate any insights or experience with this issue.
Thanks!
