Recently purchased a used 2019 Ram 1500 Limited and it doesn’t want to start sporadically. Had a tire pressure sensor issue at purchase, dealership changed that out. Two weeks later the issue developed again. During that time is when the truck decided it was gonna start not starting. All the other electronics work fine it just won’t start. Eventually it does start. Called about the TPMS crapping out and told them about the starting issue. They said it was an issue with the wireless module and it needed to be changed out. That would fix both problems. Well TPMS has been fine, but it started not starting again. Dealer had it for 3 days, can’t get a code, have no idea. They think it’s the starter, but aren’t getting a code so are t certain. Anyone else experience this, and was it the starter? I don’t want to get killed “trying” all kinds of things to fix this. I’ve had this truck less than 3 months!

How old is the battery, maybe a cell going bad in it. OEM only last around 3 years. My 19 was replaced in 22. I have seen mentioned the push start button going bad. I'm not sure how common that would be.

My brother-in-law has a 2021 ram 1500 bighorn and it decided to not start. I tried jumping it, switching out the battery and nothing worked. So I switched out the starter today and it still does not start. I started switching around some of the relays to see if it was just a bad but had no luck. So I went and got a code reader and there are no engine codes, but there were some body and powertrain control module codes, i’ll try to attach a photo of the code. I’m really stumped at what it could be.

Sounds like a power / wiring issue. Bad battery, loose ground, loose connectors, etc…. These trucks do all sorts of weird stuff when the power isn’t right. If it’s not that, then the dealership is probably just throwing bologna at the wall and seeing which pieces stick.

Mine ('20) did the same thing. There are a number of posts about the nut on the starter (cable) being lose. I got under there with a wrench and backed it off. (I assume that since I could back it off with two fingers on the wrench, it was a bit lose. Put it back on and tightened it with all five fingers. Problem solved. ...going on about 18 months now. I'll bet that's the issue.
