2019 Power Tailgate Mod - New Key doesn't drop the tailgate

Hey everyone,

I recently decided to do the Remote start mod so I could have it for the upcoming winter. While I was researching that, I found that I could get a key with remote tailgate release, and I though heck yeah! I bought that key (from here on ebay), had a locksmith program it, and the remote start works (thank god, that was the original reason that I did this to begin with) - but the "Press 2X to release" tailgate button will not work. I've tried when the truck is locked, when the truck is unlocked, when it's off and when it's running, both locked and unlocked. I've also slowed down the speed between presses, sped it up - nothing I do will get it to release it.

I do not hear the actuator when I double press the button.

If it makes any difference/helps, when I went to do the upgrade, AlfaOBD connected to my BCM under the "DT MY2019 PowerNet Var.3" option.

Does my truck not have this feature? do you think the key could just be incorrectly programmed from the manufacturer to send an incorrect code? I'm out of ideas.

There shouldn't be anything else needed. Mine worked fine after the FOB was programmed.
