Good afternoon , we all know about this problem the dreaded And annoying Hemi tick on the 5.7 L and Ram hasn't come.up with the best solutions so the question is Shorty headers in place of the mopar manifolds or go back to the oem setup.whats everyone else doing ?

The exhaust manifolds leaking isn't the Hemi tick. And shorty headers will crack and leak just like the stock manifolds. BD diesel makes a better set of manifolds that people have had good luck with

There is a professional CJDR mechanic on this forum who recommends the Dorman replacement headers. He has replaced many of the hemi headers in his work and so I would trust his recommendation that the Dorman piece is an upgrade. I had doubts myself because I don’t associate Dorman with quality but he explained they do a good job with upgrade parts like this. If it were my truck, and out of warranty so it was on my nickel, that is the part I would use.

BD Diesel if sticking stock, Long tube only as majority of Shorties seem to have cracking issues as well.

I just got my '19 Ram 1500 back tonight from the dealership after having had the L exhaust manifold replaced - 2 broken bolts (started hearing the ticking sound around 100k but just didn't get a chance to get in for an appointment until 106k). Reading your post led me to look at past paperwork but I had another one done at 50k - just confirmed that was the R exhaust manifold replaced at 50k. In speaking with the local indy mechanic as well as the dealership, I guess Ram is trying some kind of "bracket" to see if that will help? I haven't looked in the engine bay to see if I can see any kind of "bracket" but here's to hoping. went with OEM simply b/c I purchased an extended warranty when I bought the truck as a used truck in 2020. I guess the warranty has paid for itself.

In my reading thus far, I have also seen a couple of BD Diesel posts and saw a YouTube video of someone who replaced his using these headers. I suppose I could go back to look up that video to see if he's provided an update.

Good luck with whatever you decide. Will check back periodically and provide my own update on how this 'fix' from Ram is holding up.
