I have a pretty bad rattle in my front passenger door and I’ve had the door panel off several times and finally isolated the rattle to the inner portion of the door, behind the inner panel which appears to be held on by several 10mm bolts. I’ve removed several and tried to pull gently to see if I can visualize what’s going on but the panel won’t budge. Do I have to remove everything that’s attached to this panel to get it loose? Will loosening or removing the panel open Pandora’s box with stuff I will never be able to put back? This rattle is directly below the 2 10mm bolts that are behind the bottom trim panel when removing the outer panel. Something is loose. Help!

Really once you remove the (3) 10mm bolts then you just need to use a panel removal tool or something to pry the clips loose. Then pull firmly and the door panel should come off.

the first time you pull that door panel off it's tight it feels like its going to break but just pry and pull it will come off

As I said in my post, I’ve removed the outer panel several times. I know how to do that. It’s the inner panel I am asking about. Thanks though.

i did remove that i don't think it can be done without replacing it. i pulled the window out because you have to to take it off, there were a few clips for lack of it for better word that went to the back of it that break the i don't know - "fiber plastic"? no matter what i did i couldn't get them to release so i broke them and just put it back together everything still worked and i didn't have any strange noises.
i could not find anything online showing how it's done but judging buy the used on on ebay it's possible. that link shows a used one.

Thanks. Not good news for my rattle issue…

I also tried to remove that plastic panel but after some time I gave up on removing it. So I removed all the 10mm bolts and was just able to pry it open enough to get my arms in to be able to put the sound deadening on the inner door skin. It took me about 40 mins on each front door.

Thanks. I may try that. Were you happy with the results?

Yes I am happy with how it all turned out. But I have completely sound deaden the inner door skin, outer black panel and the door panel, along with foam. And also fast ring around the mid woofer, with it all together it has increased the mid bass response.
