I apologize if this has been brought up but couldn't find any threads on it. I am looking for opinions or, preferably, experience from other owners who have removed the 4x4 decal from the bedside of your truck after it being on for several years. I just bought a 2019 Delmonico Red Limited and want to remove the 4x4 decal but also don't want to still see the shadow due to paint fade over the years. I have had luck in the past removing decals that were even older without noticeable fade but was looking to see if anyone here has done it after a number of years. TIA

It all depends on how the vehicle was stored for years. In 2023, I removed graphics from a 2013 Camaro that sat outside all day in the same parking spot. We get the sun beating on a car, then a quick rain, then the sun beating the car again. That Camaro was garage kept at night and always had wax protection. One side of the car showed fade while the other didn't. The fade wasn't bad, but it was enough that the owner bought new graphics to cover the paint.

I bought my '19 Limited in February '24 with 26K mi. on it that had 4x4 off road decals on it. My truck was most likely garage kept since new and was in like new condition. I really disliked the decals and was scared to death on removing them, but one day last summer I mustered up some courage and removed them. They came off really easy with a blow dryer and there's no way of proving they were ever there. No fading or outlines at all and it looks MUCH better IMHO.
