Just took ownership of 2019 1500 4wd, HEMI. Mileage sucks. BEST I’ve gotten was 14. I drive 160-200 miles a day (city and state routes). I keep my foot out of it, but can’t seem to get anything close to epa advertised mileage. On 8 tanks, my average is 12.9!!! I do NOT use the computer!! I fill COMPLETELY up, and use actual mileage. Currently 2,200 on the odometer. ANY SUGGESTIONS?? I do not have auto stop/start feature

If you want EPA sticker mileage, you need to drive like the EPA test cycle. Also your odometer could be off, my current ride was off by 6% at highway speeds and OEM tires!

My 2016 F150 with EPA ratings of 17/23 average 17.8 for me over 58,000 miles...and I drive over 50% highway. I have a lead foot. So far with 3800 miles on the Ram, fuelly says it's at 16.0. I'm satisfied thus far.

I drive all city and I have a very light foot. I am still at 13.5mpg but only have 550 miles and have 3.92 gears. Maybe the extra weight of the skid plates art helping either?

Interesting.

I can't compare since I'm driving a 2wd(feels weird at times) but my lifetime mpg is 18.6

I do more highway, but don't grandma it in the city and always turn off the MDS.

Let it break in and let the computer learn. It will improve.

Yea I’m not tracking by hand but my average overall has been 18-19 MPG for these first 2300 miles. Recently took a trip to Myrtle Beach and while driving down I got 21 MPG while I was in control and about 19 MPG when I let cruise control take the lead. I’ve been really happy with my MPG so far.

My evic is averaging 14, I do true mixed driving a few days of city traffic and then interstate trips. I played with the adaptive cruise and here’s what I noticed: set to 73mph it shows 19-20, bump it to 74 and it goes down to 15-17. We will see what happens after a better breakin and what happens when I hookup the boat doing 80.

units with ultra low miles on the odometer with gradually improve after 3k to 5k miles full break in period. The 3.92 axle ratio will lose I would estimate 1 M.P.G. vs a 3.21. The 3.21 Axle ratio generates much lower RPM shift points on the 8HP75 transmission than the 3.92 Axle shift ratio. The popular 3.55 Ratio in My 2009 Gen. 4 4X4 Crew Cab. 5'7'' Box Ram Hemi Gets now 17-19 M.PH. 21.5 Hwy. average, and that's with the 545E 5 Speed transmission with 72K miles.

Oddly enough today on my drive home from errands I noticed the green “eco” on the dash. I’ve never noticed this before, maybe engine learning is kicking in?

Dang, I got 16 mpg with my ex 16 LTZ, with a 6.2.
Of course that was using premium gas.

A fan of skid plates every since this:

Couldn’t avoid it, ran over someone’s harbor freight loading ramp in the middle of the interstate @70mph. Sucked it up into the engine compartment of my Charger.

Absolutely must track by hand to be accurate. I fill mine TO THE TOP! I don’t just stop when the pump kicks off. I get as much fuel in as possible every time.

My problem may very well be a break in issue. I have 2,200 miles on it now. The last fill up was 14.08. And that was with about 15-20 minutes of HARD driving (family emergency).

As the miles run up, I will update. Thanks to all for your input.
