You guys think it will be possible to tow 12,000 lbs with the unreleased 1500 diesel in any configuration?

At 12000 pounds, Id want to be in a 2500 at a minimum. Never a good thing when the load starts driving the rig!
Based on my 2015 diesel Grand Cherokee I doubt anything changes but the mpg.

No. F150 diesel is at 11400 max i think. I do not think Ram's 3.0 will surpass that. I'd be surprised if it broke 11k.

I have to agree. They are supposed to be upgrading the EcoDiesel for the 5thGenTrucks, we don't know what the power and torque output would be but I don't think they will get to 12,000lbs towing with it.

Sure, as long as you feel comfortable towing at speed with less than 10% tongue weight. Manufacturer tow ratings are mostlly marketing BS. Real world trailering (i.e. not space shuttles at 2mph max, or boat trailers with extremely long distances from tongue to wheel), you run up to and beyond the payload wall far before the "tow rating" wall. Real world max payload on truck /(12-15% tongue weight)=real world trailer tow rating for the truck.
