2 Factor Authentication Help

Hi all, I need some help with two-factor authentication on my original account @Nsleone. I tried emailing the admins but never heard back so i decided to make another account and post here.

So I got a new phone and lost access to my two-factor authentication codes ( I was using OKTA verify) and according to them I cant get access to the codes again unless I send another two-factor request from my forum account, which I can't log into without the codes, so you can see my dilemma lol. If anyone else has run into this problem and can help or if an admin could help me get into my other account that would be great.

Unfortunately I don't have the ability to modify your old account (to disable 2FA). That would have to be @Jared B

I forced a password reset on the other account, not sure what that will do to the 2FA.

If you're able to recover or reset, I'd suggest a 2FA that's more "backup and restore" friendly.

We don't allow multiple user accounts, so hopefully this can get sorted out soon.

Thank you. I tried logging into the other account again and it is not making me reset my password yet, although i did that myself earlier this week and it still wont let me past the 2FA.

I certainly agree, I had no idea getting a new phone would boot me out of my 2FA. I only made this account because I was getting no response from the forum admin email. I Certainly don't intend on violating any forum rules just want to get back into my account! As soon as I do I'll delete this account if I can.

Huge shout out to @Jared B for getting me back into my account, and thank you to the other staff members who helped point me in the right direction!!

For anyone who has not set up 2 factor yet I highly recommend you do Not use Okta Verify as it created this whole problem for me!

Edit: for anyone reading this and confused, I created a second account and posted all the other posts except this one on that account. Once I got back into this account they merged that account into this one.
