12v Receptacle on dash

Does anyone know how to safely remove the 12v receptacle on the dash? I want to run a 12v mini usb plug to the unit.

Yes, I'm curious to know how to replace, or remove the 12 volt receptacle on top; as well.

Here's a write up on how to remove the radio. In the 2nd picture you can see the green back of the 12v plug (on the right side). You should be able to remove it from behind once out although I've not messed with it. You could probably remove it without disconnecting any of the wiring with just the top play in the wires. I'd just be careful to not put any strain on them.
