12 inch TRX screen compatiblity for 2019 ram 1500 PLZ REPLY !!!

Hello, I have a 2019 ram 1500 sport 5th gen and unfortunately it came with the 8 inch screen so for a while I was searching for the 12 inch screen to upgrade to. Recently on marketplace I found a 12 inch screen from a Ram TRX which was totaled and the owner is doing a part out. In the description of his post he wrote That the screen is compatible with 2019-2022 models but I just wanted to be sure. Is it safe and compatible if I buy the TRX display for my 2019 ram 1500 sport ?

With all the issues I’ve seen with the 12” screen, I think I’d stick with the 8”.

Do you know what year the donor truck is? You will need to radio module. If it is UC4, it will be fine. If it is UC5, you will need to do additional work.

My truck is a 2019 5th gen and the screen came off of a TRX so the truck is either 2021 or 2022 I’m assuming I’ve asked him he hasn’t replied to me yet.

The big thing is to make sure you get the radio module and not just the screen.

You’re going to have to ask the owner if he knows or what the production date was. For example, I bought a ‘21 in August 2021 with a UC4 12” system and a ‘22 with UC5 in December 2021.

If it is just the screen, I wouldn't pay more the $300. If it comes with the module, I wouldn't pay more than $500.

Damn he has it listed for $1000 CAD that’s $737 American and I don’t think it comes with the module.. guess I’ll just stick with my 8 inch then lol

Really ?? I’ve been looking for over a year and this is the cheapest one I could find brand new ones I’ve found go for $2500-4000 and I’m pretty sure that’s dealer price any idea where I could look to find it cheaper

Not sure I'd buy that screen regardless of the year. It looks like the screen is delaminating on the top corners.

Maybe OP should just an aftermarket unit, I think they have 13 inch screens for under 1k.

That's what I have now and it is so much better than Uconnect. $750 for a complete replacement. It is so much more capable too.

Which ones do u suggest because I have an I phone so I don’t want those Tesla style ones which has android software I want a nice one which comes with CarPlay

Don't get confused about Android.

The UC5 system runs on Android.

You can get an "Android head unit" that supports "CarPlay".Vincentw56 has one. Maybe he can post a link to it and you can see if it supports Carplay.

Yes, it supports both CarPlay and Android Auto. But you don't need either with it as it is an Android tablet so you can run all apps natively. It even has LTE so you can use it as a cellular connection. And since it has Wi-Fi you can also hotspot into your phone. It is really Superior to everything else out there.

It actually looks like the factory plastic is on it. The switches still have the plastic. Probably stolen, and saying wrecked the truck.
