So I did an oil change today and my dumb *** put 0W-20 in my 2021 Ram Rebel 5.7. Does it even matter, don't feel like draining perfectly good oil just to put 5W-20 in?

They moved the spec to 0W-20 from 5W-20, you did exactly what the dealer is already probably doing. I also moved to 0W-20 on my 2019, now our Tahoe 6.2L, Toyota C-HR and my RAM are all under the same oil, I can use PUP OW-20 for all of them.

Good to know, thanks!

I wouldn't think so 5-20 to 0-20w so close you should be fine.

Funny enough, GM just speced 0w-40 for the 6.2 (related to the recall and how the 6.2 is exploding a little too much lately)

Lol, well that's interesting isn't it, could throw a wrench on a lot of our arguments :)

Our Tahoe's 6.2L has over 100,000 miles so far, but shows great oil analysis reports. It's within that year range mentioned, lets see what the dealer puts in it next oil change.

My Rebel is due for an oil change next month, this is making me wonder what I should put in this time.

Come over to the dark side 🙂
