you do need a new harness or make one. If he has a center console with just usb’s in the back the wires that go to the buttos that he would have to add to turn on the rear seasts are not in the existing harness.

passenger side (XY435A) 7283-6455-40 $2.02 In stock at mouser

another thing to look at when you have the center console out it to take connector XY330A apart and make sure the male terminal at pin 30 didn't get bent when it was put together.
I wouldn't worry about the pink wire. I was just saying that the engine has to be running for that one to have power.
If pin 30 is not populated in the IP harness you would need to run a wire back to the connector on the fuse box.
