So an update to this, one day it randomly started working, now i get a message on my phone saying its available but i plug in and it tells me to either try a different port or use a different cable. tried all of that. cable is brand new.

Ive already got the orange griots pad and the red wax pad, Ill add some more pads to the list. I actually dont have much experience using the griots compounds, do they stack up to stuff like sonax, megs detailer compound, etc?

I'm having this exact same problem and it ended up being covered my extended warranty. The harness had a short in it and had to be replaced.
