Your liability when your vehicle is at the dealer

No one actually read this did they?? The family sued the Jeep owner who in turn sued the Jeep dealership for indemnification which shifts the burden to the dealership and off of the owner. The dealership will seek appeals but it won’t win. The article is just sensationalizing it. It’s just how...

What Is Ram’s Upcoming Range Electric Paradigm Breaker (REPB) Pickup?

Eh. Not really. Electric generation is ~ 33.7% efficient (12.9/38.2), ICE is about 21% efficient (5.95/28.3). A Tesla motor is about 93% efficient so really we’d need ~ 6.4 quads of electricity to offset the 5.95 quads from ICEs. That would equate to ~ 19 quads of additional electricity...

What Is Ram’s Upcoming Range Electric Paradigm Breaker (REPB) Pickup?

According to the article, China is working on a civilian version. And while it’s still a work in progress, the idea that we could just beam energy down is pretty hot stuff.

What Is Ram’s Upcoming Range Electric Paradigm Breaker (REPB) Pickup?

It’s things like this that keep me from worrying about EVs in the future. https://science-news.co/the-us-militarys-naval-research-laboratory-transmits-electricity-wirelessly-using-microwaves-over-long-distances/

What Is Ram’s Upcoming Range Electric Paradigm Breaker (REPB) Pickup?

The future is horses. Don’t get me wrong, cars have had a good run, but there will never be enough gas stations to sustain them cross country and if my horse needs fuel we’ll just eat the neighbors lawn.

    Anti-Spin Diff vs. E-Locker

So… once upon a time when the world was new and carburetors were still a thing they created the limited slip diff. The limited slip differential itself can quickly respond to differences in torque… However… when the great comet hit and the era of the carburetors died out, new things arose like...

    Price negotiated from MSRP

Well… stuff! So MD is about 8% under invoice before incentives and 11% under invoice after incentives.

    Price negotiated from MSRP

So, I had no idea about MD until after already placing a order for a Rebel with my local dealer. I’m kinda curious what other people’s numbers are like and how much more I’m paying by not going the MD route. For what it’s worth my dealer gave me invoice + $1500 not including any discounts...

    Dealer Damage

I haven’t tried but I’ll throw a couple boxes your way and you can report!

    Dealer Damage

Most states require a real estate agent to report things like a car driving into your house. Let me know when carfax reporting becomes a law.

    Dealer Damage

Trust me, the next time there’s a run on paper plates, I’ll be sitting on a gold mine!

    Dealer Damage

One time I was rear-ended by a Dixie Products sales rep. Now ask me why I have 100,000 paper plates in my garage.

    Dealer Damage

Absolutely. Insurance should cover all the expenses including repair and diminished value. I don’t think anyone is arguing against that. It’s the insurance + that people seem as unreasonable simply because it’s a car dealer.

    Dealer Damage

This is why people think your expectations are unreasonable because some how a car dealership is more on the hook because their products are cars than any other business would be.

    Dealer Damage

It’s just a weird idea that because they are a car dealership they are on the line for more than any other business or individual would be. If this happened while the car was with a vallet would you expect the vallet to add additional compensation over covering it with insurance? Or if it were...

Rebel Questions: Air Suspension or stock? 3.6L or 5.7?

The air suspension is a nice to have if you’re towing or want the height adjustment but certainly not necessary even if you tow. It does require the V8. If you’re getting the Rebel you should do 4x4, it’s just part of doing it. V6 vs V8 is personal preference. If you’re sensitive to...
