Top Hat Spacers vs Ready Lift - Edumacate Me a Bit

I'm an older guy just looking to level out the rake of my 21 Big Horn. I want to keep my oem Limited wheels and tires, stock ride as much as possible, and not mess w warranty. I'm unable to do the work myself so I contacted a local truck 4x4 shop to get ideas and quotes. They recommended Ready...

    Bilstein 5100

Hopefully easy questions that can be answered quickly here... for an old guy driven 1500 crew is the Bilstein 5100 adjustable the generally advised, accepted, easiest, whatever, way to just level out the oem lean some yet keep ride nice? Assuming so, what setting are folks using most and are...

    Wireless CarPlay Dongle

For some reason, my dongle is just sitting in my console, unconnected. It hung up a few weeks ago, so I unplugged it, used a cable and have stayed with the cable ever since. I just feel like overall audio quality is better and worth plugging/unplugging....will see.

    Road Line Paint Removal

Just an update. My insurance paid for a body shop to fix (after $100 deductible) to the tune of $2100. Almost all lower body black trim was replaced (w oem) including wheel well liners, ends of bumpers, even all new running boards/steps. Looks nice, glad to have truck back after >week.

Trade granite for white (or silver)

Just throwing out there... With trade-in prices thru the roof I've been toying w idea of trading my "granite" (dark gray) 21 BH DT (4K miles) for a new, same truck, in white. Haven't talked w dealer yet but numbers I can find seem to support I could get pretty close on $. I am a white-car guy...

    Road Line Paint Removal

Was told the same by my insurance agent. Said PennDot has a third party handling the program and that the two orgs will jerk me around for months asking for all kinds of stuff then will likely never hear a thing. Only in Pennsyltucky.

    Road Line Paint Removal

I'm in Berks also. Our Twp does a lot of "oil and chips" so one time I stopped at the main office to ask why it's done. Was told it is best way to extend the life of the road by adding a sacrificial "wear layer" on top that basically gives way to winter snow plowing and if they didn't chip...

    Road Line Paint Removal

I hear you. I never had a clue I was driving on wet paint. No signs, no cones, no warning. I was on a winding rural state road in bumper to bumper traffic for two miles, when I finally got to the intersection there were the Penndot trucks along side of the road - I knew right then I had a mess...

    Road Line Paint Removal

Op here. Turns out my insurance will pay for the repairs and I have appointment at local body shop for estimate/scheduling early November. I'm not really worried about the outward-facing surfaces; the body, chrome, and even the trim and running boards. Those parts it will come off with some...

    Road Line Paint Removal

Power washer w 15* nozzle pretty much didn't budge it. If I got close and let it scour a spot it would move a little of it but then I'm risking damage to plastics. Best method so far was to scrape it with my old plastic driver's license but that was really slow going and will take me days and...

    Wireless CarPlay Dongle

I got a replacement 😉 and the new one does much better. I still get a periodic audible click or blank but it's not near as often and so far completely tolerable and worth it to have the overall wireless functionality. Also, it seems to do better in the right set of ports vs the left. I'm...

When are you doing your first oil change?

I dunno... if going by the oil life monitors it sure seems excessive on the miles. I'd love to go close to 10k but not sure I could get myself to do that. I normally do my own changes but I'm getting older (and knowing what a mess these trucks are to do!) I had a local drive-up with car wash...

    Wireless CarPlay Dongle

Connected it again yesterday (I have/did updated it several times) and listened closely to some music and what I described as a "click" is really a momentary drop-out rather than an extraneous sound. As I wrote previously, I listen through Apple Music almost exclusively but today will try...

    Wireless CarPlay Dongle

Back to report my Carlinkit 2.0 has been constantly giving audible "click" every 10 secs or so while listening to music (almost exclusively Apple Music app). At this point I've given up and attached phone via cable and the dongle just sits there unused. Have contacted support but just got the...
