This is an interesting read. I have to say I really like the stock exhaust system. It is quiet cruising. but has a nice tone when stepping into it. This 5.7L Hemi makes nice music.
Cheers. Ron
Mine would occasionally have a quick jerk after coming to a stop, act like I shifted it to neutral and then back into gear when trying to accelerate. I turned the truck in to have it checked, was told nothing is wrong, and it is the programming on the transmission. Not sure if its a stall...
We've had our truck since Aug and we love it. It is fast, it gets great fuel mileage (15.5 in town/18 highway). This is the first gasser truck I've owned since 1996... all diesel Rams since then. The '96 Ram 5.9L magnum had roller rockers, headers, Mopar HP ECM (had to run 91+ocy), replaced...
Lateralus,
Thanks for the explanation. Interesting FCA doesn't provide the 2" with the off road pkg... I guess it leaves opportunity for another purchase.
With only gaining an inch and the cost of the kit. I'm likely going to leave it alone.
Cheers, Ron
Hey Porboy,
I looked at your signature and saw the Hellwig rear away bar upgrade... just ordered mine from Amazon. I have upgraded every Ram truck with one, including my new Ram 5500. This will really improve the 1500s cornering. Thanks!
Cheers, Ron
This is my wife's truck and just looked at window sticker... it has the off road pkg which has 1 inch lift over stock ... why wouldn't FCA just add the 2 inches. I guess upgraded shocks and an inch might be worth $1200. Interestng....
Cheers, Ron
Lateralus,
Thanks for the quick response. We purchased lifetime warranty on this truck and warrant stipulates 2" max lift to retain the warranty. Kit looks like brackets lower UCAs, which raises truck, correct?
I've only ever owned Ram HDs with straight axles, so a little different...
How hard is this kit to install and are the instructions well documented? I googled to find instructions, but no luck. I joined today and this is my second post.
Thanks, Ron
