I've been through this upgrade 3 times now on the new body style. There is an oem kit that includes the wiring harness and lights. They are exactly the same as the factory. The parts numbers are shown in the first response to your question. Just a couple hints to hopefully help you. First be...
Thanks for letting me know about the Flex. I did a good bit of research and watched a number of utubes. Thought I picked a quality cover but it seems like it's hit or miss to get a good fit without leaks
Wow 3 tries? I agree there should be better QC. But after reading the other responses to my post it seems like a lot of added work and frustration to get a reasonable water seal on such an expensive cover. I see others talking about the "Flex" being better. Without warranty on mine I sure can't...
Appyfan, it took a couple weeks for the replacement corners to arrive and there was no tracking information, I guess because there was no invoice. Like you I felt like the replacement was lost, but it did arrive.
Have you been able to find a solution for the center fold leakage?
Thanks for...
OldMarine, glad to hear you are having good success with your cover. TruckHero doesn't feel the leaking issues are warranty covered and suggest "adjusting the install". I'll be trying that suggestion and the other suggestions from the members here. Hoping to make it better.
Thanks for the response. The drain holes seem to be clear.
On the silicone did you put it on the top of the bed sides then the rails on top? I'm concerned that may discolor or deface the plastic on the bed sides??
dander, thanks for responding. I'll look into a tailgate seal, do you mean at the top of the tailgate where the cover contacts the top surface?
Will also check the rails again. I thought I had them down nicely and the clamps aligned with the grooves in the rails but will check for adjustment...
2021 1500 Big Horn Hemi
eTorque 3:21 gear.
Potential good news to report.
Got my first fill up today at 398 miles. There were 3 miles on it and full tank when I picked it up at the dealership. Took 20.0007 gallons 87 octane, so 19.75 mpg. Computer said 18.4 average. Of the first miles 270 were...
Searched the forums for a comprehensive discussion on Backflip mx4 so I hope I am not duplicating.
I recently added an MX4 to my 2021 Bighorn 5.7. The concerns are:
* Water leakage at the center fold
* Water leakage at the tailgate
* One corner piece broke off in shipping (Truck Hero sent free...
Looks great on your truck. Regarding your previous experience with the MX4, did you have leak issues? Installed one on a 2021 5.7 bed and notice leaking from the center fold and at the tailgate. My previous soft trifold fold was bone dry for 1/3 the price.
Any hints to correct the leaking would...
We walked a similar path. I really liked the Ford 2.7 turbo and thought maybe, just maybe....then read the bad experiences with the new design and that was that. Burned once was enough for me. With no dealer or FOMOCO manufacturers support right back to RAM.
I understand the luxury cruiser for sure. I traded my 2007 F150 with low mileage and in superior condition with 1 exception. Couldn't keep paint on the aluminum hood and Ford wouldn't stand behind it because it "didn't have perfection through the metal".
That's when I turned to RAM for a 2017...
Like the OP I don't out many miles on my vehicles as I split the driving between 4 daily drivers and 3 classics (1953, 1966 and 1985). Regardless of mileage the oil and filter is changed every 6 months. The older ones get good quality non synthetic. The newer ones get the the manufacturers...
Thanks, it was a nail biter because the striper actually hand painted them so I couldn't peel off if turned out wrong. Fortunately he placed a long piece of masking tape and demonstrated the look before proceeding.
