Update: mechanic did a second pressure check on the coolant system and it passed. He acknowledged it could be a small leak from the heater core that is only detectable by smell at this point, but was very reluctant to dive into replacing the core without better assurance this was the source of...
This week, after the truck was parked and covered for about two weeks, I got in to drive it and immediately noticed a strong antifreeze-like smell. Immediately suspecting a heater core leak, I called the local dealership to see what a replacement would cost before I brought it in to start...
Yup, and they turned out great! I purchased the Diamond Black Crystal handles and lock covers, sanded them down (just enough to scuff them up all over), and then spray painted them with Rust-Oleum textured black spray paint, which is a "close enough that you can't tell the difference" match to...
I got one door done today (and it works!), but I’m having trouble getting the rubber boot back on the large double connector from the door to the body. Am I supposed to put the boot on the connector before I put the connector back into the body, or do I put the connector assembly into the body...
I’m about to do the passive entry upgrade to my 2021 BTS. Since they don’t make PE handles for the flat-black textured trim on the BTS trucks, I purchased PE handles for the regular (glossy) black trim and plan to paint them with Rust-oleum textured black (7220).
Does anyone have any tips for...
I have the tank (green) Built to Serve edition, and realize that the stock textured black handles aren't offered in PE. Couple questions:
- does anyone have experience (and photos!) of swapping a PE handle with the BTS black handle cover, to include drilling a hole for the PE button?
- are Tank...
I suspect it is, but I live in rural Alaska, where getting warranty work done is…an ordeal. I figure if I can use fixing this as a good rationale for concurrently doing the passive door handle upgrade that I just learned exists in one of the aforementioned videos. 😁
I did, and it turns out the cable itself broke about 4” up the cable run. Which, I’m sure, is going to be a peach to replace. Frustrating, considering the truck isn’t even a year old yet!!
Just had the driver’s interior door handle break. Seems like the cable detached behind the door panel (the handle just flops back and forth loosely).
Does anyone have a link to a door panel removal post or video for the 5th Gen?
Also, any tips on this issue?
Thanks!
Yup, that's what I discovered right after I installed the Du-Ha in our truck, and then re-installed the car seats. 🤦♂️ Sometimes I don't think things all the way through...
That said, the Du-Ha is, indeed, a very nice storage option! We just wouldn't be seeing much use over the next 3-5 years...
Does anyone know of a pull-out option, or have a recommendation on tubs or some other option that work well? We have two car seats installed in the back seat, and as much fun as it is to take them out and reinstall them (ha ha, I'm so hilarious... it's the worst thing ever), I'd rather have...
