Solved. Shop noticed water had gotten into my LR tail light LED assembly (OEM). They disconnected the light, and everything works as designed. Plug it back in, the issues in the OP reappear.

I wouldn't have thought the tech would've disconnected the battery in the course of removing rusted bolts. Honest question: is disconnecting the battery part of the process?

I was stopped at a stop light this past weekend behind an older diesel truck that had bad exhaust fumes. I pushed the vent recirculation button and it flashed the yellow light a few times and refused to close the vents. Ambient air temperature was about 28F. Has anyone else experienced this?
