Nitto also makes the TG2 in this configuration. Ran those and they are to noisy. Also going to try the Pirelli's for the same reason. Fill the wheel well.
Just as comparison, my 18 longhorn hemi on the same trip conditions to Az and back would average 14-16mpg. This is running various speed limits of 65-80. Also had 3.21 rears. My 21 limited eco same trips with 3.92's runs 23-31 depending on everything so it is a huge difference. As far as...
Just received mine in the mail also. Have not had to dealer since new in Feb 21 and have no plans to take to dealer in future unless something major happens.
Running a 21 limited with 3.92's and mileage is great. Driving 60 miles each way every day for the last 10 days with about 10 miles of city and the rest interstate at 70+ my avg is 28. Gets better if run 65-70 but get passed by evrything on the road.
There is an older thread on this. Something with the word booming. I had this issue in my 21 limited and it seems the back cab wall and/or vents start to vibrate at certain speeds. The fix had to do with putting a pool noodle or in my case round pipe insulation from home depot between the back...
Went to the 275/60/20 right away on my 21 limited. These were the stock size on the 4th gens and should be on the 5th gens. There are no issues going up to the 60 and a 275/65/20 would also fit fine.
We do not need LT tires on our 1/2 tons unless again unless for some reason you are really pullinr heavy or overloading. Air up the p metric tires to their max and you do very well. And do not be fooled, adding the weight of LT tires ALWAYS affects MPG and performance and ride. Thats the nature...
I think the 285/60/20 is the perfect size for these. Yours look great. I have 275/60/20's on my 21 limited. Would like to go up to your size but I hate LT tires as 99% of the time they are unnecssary, meaning the p metrics aired up to carry max load are very sufficient for what most of us do. I...
I have a 21 limited ED with 3.92's. Put on 275/60/20's, 33" tires and at 70 turning 1900 rpm. Seems to be a good rpm as very rarely downshifts to 7th on hills, basically only if stiff wind and fairly steep ascent.
Would not trade my limited for anything except another limited. I have a 21 limited Ecodiesel, white with indigo/frost interior which is very similiar to the new 10th anniversary interior. With the air suspension and 3.92's highwya is a dream. Rarely ever downshifts to 7th going 75-80 mph...
Had 3 hemis. 17, 2 18's, CC's, 5.7 bed, bed covers. 17 loaded laramie w/air suspension then 2 loaded longhorns w/ air suspension. 17-3.92 18-3.92, 18-3.21 Overall their avg was roughly 15mpg. The 3.21 actually was the lowest avg, maybe 1+mpg on hiway. On the highway basically 18-19 if ran 60...
For the OP, why did you go LT tires? If you need them fine but the p rated aired up to their max serve the majority of our needs. As you found out they are way heavier which kills mpg's.
My point was to the post above me. He was saying you do not buy a truck to ride like a cadillac. I was pointing out that I have had high end trucks on the farm for alot of years. Do not need to buy a pickup to ride like a real truck. I have enough semis and straight trucks on the farm if If I...
