    Ram Rebel leveling dilemma

It may not be very different. I’m interested to see. I know the MFT tailgate and reinforcements are notably heavier than the normal ones, but I’m not sure by how much. My friend has a TRX with the standard tailgate and every time I close his I feel like Hercules with how light it feels. Post...

    Ram Rebel leveling dilemma

Out of curiosity, what information does it contradict? You may already know this, but the unloaded height of a spring is a challenging metric to compare. The type of steel used, the angle of the coils, the thickness of wire used, and the resulting spring rate, etc all have a significant impact...

    Ram Rebel leveling dilemma

Honest answer, I don’t know. All I can share is what my experience was for my truck. My Rebel with the RamBox (with about 50 pounds in them) and MFT with the HD coils sits at 41” from fender to floor in the rear (40.125 up front). You can see the measurements from my truck and others from...

    Ram Rebel leveling dilemma

This is pure opinion and forum speculation on my part. It is intended in the spirit of being helpful though. You may be overthinking this. A typical leveling kit will have about 1/2“ to 1” rake in order to maintain the level appearance visually. A truly level truck doesn’t look quite right...

    Ram Rebel leveling dilemma

Well, I’m curious to see where you net out. I certainly didn’t see 2-3 inches of lift in the rear. Perhaps you have a different configuration than I do though. I had the Carli suspension and my 35” tires installed at the same time, so I doubt I would have visually noticed a 1 inch lift. To...

    Bed Cover with Ramboxes

I had the factory tri-fold soft tonneau for a year. I swapped that out for a DiamondBack cover. The DiamondBack hinges open on both sides and is sturdy enough that I can mount racks and accessories on top or strap cargo down directly on top of the cover.

    Ram Rebel leveling dilemma

I believe it lifts in the front and stays pretty close to factory in the rear, thus giving you a level appearance. In reality, it still has a very slight rake, but it’s minimal. The height is provided by the springs they provide, not the shocks. It’s worth noting that I’m referring to stock...

    Ram Rebel leveling dilemma

I’m happy with the Carli HD springs. They don’t provide any significant lift in the rear though. The rear stays about the same as stock. The Carli kit levels the truck by lifting the front a bit.

Weird sound I can’t figure out

Thanks for the suggestion! I narrowed it down to the oil filter relocation kit I have on my truck. Now I just have to figure out why it’s making that noise.

Weird sound I can’t figure out

I did. Thanks for asking. It sits consistently around mid-40’s psi when up to temp.

Weird sound I can’t figure out

With the Chassis Ears I was able to narrow down the noise. It seems to be coming from my Pacbrake oil filter relocation kit on the filter side. What specifically, I’m not sure. Could be a line, the filter mount, the filter itself, or perhaps air in the system that is cavitating, I’m not sure...

Weird sound I can’t figure out

In general, it doesn’t seem like it. When the sound first started happening, it most consistently started while going slightly uphill, letting off the throttle, and a slight turn in that location in the video. As it’s progressed, it happens in many scenarios, including going straight down a...

Weird sound I can’t figure out

It doesn’t matter if the truck is in 2wd, 4wd, or neutral. The sound is not impacted.

Weird sound I can’t figure out

I got excited about the possibility and decided to test it tonight. I unplugged the 4 connectors that go into the two tuned mass dampers. Unfortunately that didn’t end up being it. It was a really good suggestion though! Thank you.

Weird sound I can’t figure out

Definitely not ANC. What is AVC? Edit: looked up AVC. It’s the tuned mass dampers to cancel out vibrations from cylinder deactivation. That wouldn’t be what would come to my mind based on it seeming to come from the front of the truck, but it’s a great suggestion and easy to test. I’ll check...

Weird sound I can’t figure out

Correct. They had it for two weeks and much BS ensued. I found another mechanic.

Weird sound I can’t figure out

That's where my current line of thinking is. It reminds me of something rubbing against a grease seal. But I don't see anything obviously leaking and the front diff and axles look fine visually. I have a ChassisEar (remote wireless microphones) that is arriving tomorrow that will hopefully...

Weird sound I can’t figure out

I have checked the bearings and the shop did as well. No play in the wheels, no grinding felt or heard when spinning the tires, everything spins freely, and no heat build up. Typically when I have heard bearings going out, I’ve heard a rhythmic sound as it rotates or a whine that changes pitch...

Weird sound I can’t figure out

I have a sound that has started in the last couple of weeks that myself and the mechanics have not been able to figure out yet. It’s a groaning sound that happens at any speed, sporadically. It doesn’t change pitch or volume with vehicle speed, though the sound does vary. It typically happens...

    Engine Bay Air Compressor Mount?

The truck is at the dealer getting some work done at the moment. I can post a pic when I get it back.
