I took mine in last Friday for what they said was the necessary inspection before the HPFP replacement. Maybe that's not what the recall letter says but that's what my dealership does. If I thought they would listen to me, a non-mechanic and non-CDJR dealer, I would have asked to just have the...
Let me jump in line here and put out a question to @RamCares . I called about the second recall letter and am scheduled for an inspection before the parts are ordered. Is that the proper chain of events? If they don't find anything wrong at the inspection are they NOT going to swap out the HPFP...
I have a 2020 Limited ED with the 33 gal tank. At least that's what the sticker says. Yesterday I was at 1/8th tank and filled up. It only took 22 gallons. Is there a way to crawl under the truck and verify that I have a 33 gal tank vs 26?
Went to Advance Auto Parts and popped the hood to look around while the tech plugged in the code reader.
This truck was in the shop 6 weeks for an "oil seep" and they found sludge in the turbo intercooler so replaced it.
The tech said, "the code show a disconnected PCV valve" (or something like...
After my recent troubles I just can't get a break. Truck was at the dealer 6 weeks for an internal oil leak. I drove it home and now have a Check Engine light. The closest service center says they can't see the truck until LATE MAY! LATE F*CKING MAY! The lady said if the light isn't flashing...
Well, I got the truck back! It was a supply chain issue that a nice lady named Clarice from corporate resolved. Turbo intercooler was gunked up so they replaced it. I never could find out where the oil leak was...
Lesson learned to use RamCares. Don't wait. They are the only folks that seemed...
Still at the dealership. Thanks to Rob at Ramcares for starting some parts finding from the corporate side. Now that the intercooler is there, the mechanic is waiting for instruction on how to find the leak that made replacement of the intercooler necessary. So he doesn't know where the leak is...
One month today and no news. Going to send RAMCARES a note...
I recently retired and had plans for a vacation trip someplace warm IN MY TRUCK. At this point I don't have a truck.
I'm not a diesel mechanic but I'd like some advice about whether the longevity of this diesel engine is compromised by this leak. When I know more of the intimate details I'll post here. Three weeks today. Not a peep from the service department. Either they don't have any new news or they are...
Thanks Rob. My truck has been at the dealer since Jan 18th. No end in sight, they are "still waiting on STAR to complete the review the tech sent in to FCA". I don't know what that means. I'm not a truck mechanic and have no idea whether an oil leak that includes coolant mixing with the oil...
Agreed. And I think Rob's reply above is kind of a cop out. The parent company is responsible for the name on the side of the building. I have never understood why the service department isn't the BEST option to get a car worked on and serviced. They have the expertise and can pay their...
Thanks Rob. My wife spent less on her Mercedes and they MAKE SURE she has a loaner when she gets an oil change. Any $70,000 truck owner should be offered a rental or loaner when they have warranty work. The parent company ought to make sure of that so that we owners don't *****. AND the parent...
