    searching new inventory nationwide

The fuel pump stop sale prevented any dealership from selling a new Eco, so there's a ton out there.

Thanks for the info. CarGurus seems like they have access to all of the trucks sitting on the lots. (y)

    searching new inventory nationwide

Anybody know how to search the web to look for new 2023 3.0l trucks? I know the stop-sale is still in effect, but would like to see what's out there for when the stop-sale gets lifted. My current 3.0l is at 45k miles and would like to upgrade to a new 2023 when this happens. If there isn't any...

    White residue in exhaust? DEF?

Remember, DEF consumption is based off of fuel consumption. So, if your MPG is low, your DEF use goes up. It's roughly 3% of the fuel consumption. For your 1800 mile trip at 22mpg, you should have used roughly 2.5gal of DEF. That's half a tank of DEF.

Recall of High Pressure Fuel Pump

I just love that there are no updates to what they are actually doing for the recall. Is it a new designed pump or what? So, someone with direct knowledge of the pump says it's not part of the recall, but who says this new pump won't be recalled in the future. FCA and Ram are not sharing ANY...

Muzzys A/C hack location for ecodiesel?

Later models will have a different blend door setup than what the earlier models have. There is a TSB out there somewhere that allows older models to get an updated system installed. I was tempted to do this, but don't want the oil change monkey at the dealership tearing my dash apart and...

Recall of High Pressure Fuel Pump

How does the MAF get "clogged"? It's just after the air filter and that should be clean air there. Do you mean MAP sensor?

    2020 EcoDiesel 3.0 Oil Recommendations

I've been using Total Quartz 9000 Energy 5W-40 since my first oil change. I can't remember why I ended up with Total, but I did a bunch of reading on the "approved" oils and chose that. I think it was something off of BITOG.

    Winter front poor design

Mine has active shutters in front of the intercooler, which are closed pretty often when not towing and when it's cold out.

    No more diesel.......

I really hope this isn't true, but it seems like it..... https://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/chrysler/2022/09/13/ram-end-production-1500-ecodiesel-truck-january/10369218002/

    Questions for Ecodiesel owners

And just so you know, DEF consumption should be roughly 2-3% of your diesel fuel consumption. So, if you think that you are burning through a bunch of DEF, calculate it out in case you need to take the truck in for possible problems. But.....not sure what the DEF consumption should be for one...

    DEF on E with countdown

This problem IS from overfilling the tank. I filled mine all the way up to the top with a 2.5gal jug and I actually had a CEL pop up, the P203E code. On the way to the dealership, the gauge started working, but the CEL was already on. So, in a way, I did the P203E DEF gauge reset drive cycle...

Cheapest way to change ecodiesel oil ?

Just doesn't make sense that FCA would "approve" high SAPS oils then if they were worried about DPF clogging. Good to know that our 3.0 can handle the higher SAPS oils as I am going to continue to run the Total Quartz stuff (I have 1 more oil change worth of it sitting here). Thanks for the...

Cheapest way to change ecodiesel oil ?

If these DPF systems are ok with normal/high SAPS, then why run medium or low SAPS oils? I've been running Total Quartz 9000 Energy and it's a normal/high SAPS and it has the MS-12991 certification. Doesn't a higher SAPS also mean better wear additives since phosphorus is anti-wear and sulphur...

    A/C Performance

Well, glad I waited and didn't get the TSB done. With a shut off valve, I see 42deg out the driver vents in 110deg air temps. Granted, I have to turn the valve back on if I need heat, but it isn't that big of a deal. Thanks to all that have done it and let us know that the TSB helps, but the...

    Air Conditioning Fix

With my heater core line shut off with the manual valve, I see @ 44F in 115F heat. If I open up the valve, I see 55-56F in 115F heat. Which temp would you prefer? I know what I do when it gets hot enough for AC......Phoenix heat tests the AC very well. I am not going to do the TSB as the guys...

    Regen Cycles

Exactly. The majority of diesel owners out there have NO clue what a regen is and will shut it down. So, engineers have to build the diesel for the least educated driver out there. That means the system has to take care of itself without any driver intervention. If the system can't regen...

    A/C Performance

This is a known issue with Jeeps, so I'm guessing the trucks do it too. The "engineers" think that the cab needs to be flushed with outside air every once in a while to "prevent CO" accumulation. So, they have in the software to open the recirc door at set intervals. Well, in the truck, I could...

    Regen Cycles

Watch your current MPG. If you pay attention, you'll notice a significant drop when cruising at a steady speed. I don't catch all of my regens, but I do catch it every once in a while.
