My annoyance now is that since they replaced the steering column when I turn to the left the signal doesn't turn itself off about half of the time... argh!
Yes that's exactly what it sounded like. Seems to be quite a few faulty steering columns out there. Maybe a bad batch on early production units? Since the column was replaced it's been good. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
Ya I've also got no deductible but I'm sure that won't be available next year after constantly replacing the windshield. Both have split from the side so far too. Very odd and I don't think it's just bad luck.
This is what I had to have done a couple weeks ago... so far so good 🤞I’d love to hear from Ram Cares about why so many new Rams need replacement steering columns? According to Ram Canada “this is the first they’ve heard of it” - right. I have a hard time believing that since Chrysler...
Well evidently I have to get a mopar windshield so we will see how long this one lasts... I really think there is something wrong with the glass in these new windshields. The shop said anecdotally that they have been seeing a lot of the new Rams in for cracked windshields. 🤷♂️
Has anyone had issues with their Mopar windshields cracking more than normal? I've got 4000km on my 2021 and have already went through two of them just doing city driving. Nothing even noticeable hitting them and they crack and split. My 2015 still had the original windshield when I traded it in...
Ya it sounded exactly like that. They replaced the steering column and the associated bearings and as of right now it's fixed. Fingers crossed it stays that way?
Just an update on mine... they replaced the clockspring a few weeks ago but that didn't fix anything. They connected with Chrysler Engineering and the truck was in today to get the whole steering column/components replaced. All the grinding/clicking is gone as of now....
Thanks for the heads up. Mine is going in tomorrow for the clockspring which is hopefully all that is needed but if not I'm definitely going to be bringing this up with them!
Just an update on mine (which I don't know is applicable to some of the other issues)... I had it into the dealer today and after a couple hours they said it is a defective clockspring making the sound and that I need a new one so they're got one on order. Fingers crossed that's the issue but...
I had a clicking/popping sound in my steering wheel and took it to the dealer today and they said it is the clockspring and it needs to be replaced so they've got a new one on order... hopefully that's it?
I started getting this the other day on my 2021... it's like a clicking in the steering column when turning the wheel right/left and sometimes over a bump. Very noticeable. Going to have to take it in to the dealer. It's not when I'm at full turn and is very random (including straight) so I...
