Hey all,
Seen a couple other posts about this, but no definitive solution.. any thoughts or ideas appreciated.
Headliner has started to rattle and pop; driving me bonkers. Coming from behind the moonroof area. Really pops loud when going over a speed bump or making a turn and there’s some...
Happy thanksgiving everyone.
Dealership swapped the rear view modules and FCW/cruise control worked as advertised for two days. Suddenly, on the flattest, straightest roads you can imagine (salt flats, Utah) it kicks off and I get the same warnings.
Not a clue now what the issue could be...
The module in the rear view mirror (where the FCW/ACC cameras are) is bad. No part in stock, much like the other posts above. They’re seeing what they can do to pillage one from another dealership in the area, but either way, sets me way behind schedule for the drive home. At least another hotel...
Just picked up new 2500 Limited. No sooner driving it off the lot (seriously, it’s at 23 miles) this issue shows up. Going back to the dealership tomorrow at the advise of my sales person but I was planning on hitting the road for my 1,500 mile drive home. This is my second 5th gen ram (first...
Hey John,
Turns out my sunroof was installed 1/8 inch off center at the plant; took the service folks 3 months to figure it out!
They replaced the entire sunroof assembly and glass and I haven’t had another leak yet. Folks were telling me the clearance light seals may be a culprit (but I don’t...
Your friend has a 2019? I’ve been hearing the heavy duties, for whatever reason, are the consistent problem children. Sorry to hear you had issues too.

They mentioned it early on but FCA hasn’t told me one way or the other if they came out or, obviously, if they found something wrong.
They said they’re replacing the entire sunroof assembly and crossing their fingers that it fixes the issue; their exact words! Hopeful I get the truck back this...
Hey all,
Sorry for the lack of updates regarding my truck. The reason being is I have not received any estimated time of repair or update regarding what’s going on. The dealership still has it; day 48 in the shop.
Last I heard is they were planning to replace the entire sunroof assembly but...
I tend to agree with you. I’m simply passing along what the body shop guy told me :)
I have a 2500 (I posted in the wrong category, I realize that now). I talked to FCA’s customer retention team and they told me they haven’t had any other issues with these tubes, so who knows.
At this point...
Not a bad idea. They would certainly have to increase the gauge of the front tubes to allow for twice as much water to run through.

Alright, here we go.
Stopped by the body shop because I was sick of dealing with the dealership as the middle man. The body shop folks were eager to open the truck up and show me what they found.
BLUF: replacing the sunroof won’t fix the issue. The sunroof/chassis design is 100% the issue...
Day 29: Got a call from the dealership saying the body shop folks are going to be removing the entire sunroof/moonroof assembly and replacing it (all the tracks, motors, glass, you name it). No timeline for this repair and admitted he has no idea if it’ll fix the issue.
I hired a lemon law...
I’m in California. The lemon law here is the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and it’s fairly consumer oriented. As far as contacting them in writing, I’ll have to see what exactly they’ll require. I’ve been working directly with FCA care specialists and the dealership has been reaching out to...
Day 26. Lemon law attorneys have been chomping at the bit to take up my case with this truck. I have mixed feelings; I loved this truck and it had everything I wanted. But...
I know deep down that the issue will have lasting effects that may not immediately appear or damage that may take time...
I haven’t seen the truck, only heard from my service rep. I have to take the body shop guy at his word it’s the chassis (frame/body) and not some component; again, whatever that means. I hope to have more info later this week and will fill y’all in once I get more.
It’s worth noting that the chassis being faulty is the body shop’s determination and not the dealership’s. That being said, this body shop has dealt with many water leaks/collision repair/etc from this dealership in the past. It’s their trusted referral location.
Not sure whether it’s all of them, but the service rep said he’s gotten more and more 2019 guys coming in with similar issues. As far as HD, I’ve seen water leak forums for all the different powertrains and trims, but seems to be either brake light or sunroof drain tubing. First I’ve seen or...
I’d encourage you to reach out to Mark and RamCares. The specialists were able to process a refund for one month’s payment, at a minimum, as the case is still open. My truck has been at the shop for weeks due to these water leaks and I’m going to fight tooth and nail to get the interior re-done.
Update 2: Dealership called. Truck has been in their possession since 29 December 2019. The body shop identified an issue with the chassis, NOT the tubing or seals. Somehow, some of the 2019 chassis have “up-sloping” sunroof drains that, obviously, are not conducive to letting gravity do its...
I’ve seen issues with those. You mean the drain tube that exits on the passenger side between the cab and the bed? I pointed that out to the dealership; he was sure it was only because of the sunroof leaking.
Is it just not properly connected or clogged?
Thanks for the input!
