On iphones, you can tap the screen during a call and there is a "speaker" option. If you click that, you can choose uconnect, speaker phone, or normal and it will let you take the call normally, but the radio will reengage when you take it off bluetooth.

I'm going to try this out. I agree the drain plug is in a bad spot. I hate having to wipe everything down after and still get a few stray drips coming off the components after replacing the filter.
