The lawyer I'm talking to brought up the "common practice we see from Chrysler" about how i've had my truck in over 6 times and yet only have 3 service records in my hand. Be sure to get records from every visit, if you can!
From others who have reported this issue from my recollection, it seems to be mostly BigHorns with the 6 speaker audio system.
Anyways : Got my truck back from the dealership again. They'd called in a FCA technical rep to drive to our town to investigate. He flashed an update to the ANC and...
Sorry all i'd totally forgotten about this thread. Anyways : a while back they replaced the amplifier according to the service bulletin mentioned a long time ago, and it solved the issue MOST of the time. Loading up the back of the cab no longer reliably made the issue happen, but the issue...
Back when I had my Silverado my salesman had chided me for keeping it in 4wd Auto because "things spin to keep the front wheels ready to be driven at a moment's notice. best to only use that when necessary because fuel economy wear and tear etc", so he scared me off it from that point forward...
is the knob loose at all? my shifter issues started when i noticed that sometimes the gears wouldn't change as the knob turned, and i had to firmly press the knob 'in' to get it to change. The problem got worse and worse, eventually *almost* stranded me (took me 30 minutes to coax the truck...
Yeah. Carplay works just fine. I like Android Auto a little better, personally.
I'm not a fanboy for either and have been back and forth between android and apple hardware a lot of times over the years : but the '17 silverado never had a single issue with showing text messages from previous...
Just a heads up, y'all. When I got my Ram 3 months ago, Text messages did not show up anywhere on the truck's infotainment system when a text came in. Somewhere in the truck's documentation it even noted that text messages weren't supported on iOS. Android only. After I got it back from the...
niiiiiiiice. I'd probably be slightly less cranky overall if I was more insistent (i'm a pushover) to get a truck to drive for the last 18 days rather than a durango. The durango is decent for what it is (wife loved it and wants one instead of her sorento)... but I need to haul some **** every...
This is true. But my purely anecdotal experience : of the dozen or so 4 wheel vehicles I've owned, the Ram is up to 2nd place for amount of issues I've had.. and at only 3k miles. (Nobody will take the crown from my 1990 Nissan Stanza holy moly what a pile that car was).
Finally got my truck back after 18 days for a shifter issue, but turns out the sound issue was NOT addressed. Service department said hood vibration was also part of the solution and Ram doesn't have whatever's necessary to send to the dealership to solve it. So : I get to bring my truck back...
Exactly. The quality of the experience in the Ram's shifter was better than I'm currently experiencing in the Durango at least. But in both vehicles, the knob feels a little flimsy.
Edit : Just called the dealer. Again. GUESS WHAT SHIFTER WAS PUSHED BACK AGAIN MAYBE IT'LL BE IN THURSDAY. Yeah...
For what it's worth, I've been without my truck for 16 days now thanks to this faulty shifter. I'm a reasonable person, but I'm starting to get impatient. The shifter's expected arrival was pushed back AGAIN to Monday the 23rd, and yet I still haven't heard from the dealership. I have this...
Yeah. This is my first "fob" vehicle and despite being a techno-nerd, I had trust issues with the idea of a fob. So, I did a lot of googling. Turns out like MOST (if not all) vehicles out there that use fobs have this feature, along with the 'hidden' physical key for emergency door access...
when you press the start button in the truck, does it say anything on the screen? is the truck in Park, and are you pressing the brake?
maybe there's a fob failure to communicate with the truck? did you try pressing the fob against the start button ? (if the fob battery dies or fob breaks...
Driveway Queen. It hurts having a barn-style garage that's configured in such a way that your shiny truck doesn't fit inside. Otherwise: The Ram is a work commuting, motorcycle hauling, small trailer pulling, comfy trip taking, dog paw print attracting very soon to be baby protector.
I know little to nothing, but consider this. There is an amp, and it's integral to the noise cancellation system in the truck. Mine was making weird humming sounds and turns out there's a bulletin for that issue, which the solution is replacing the amp.
Well, the Ram is at the dealership for a Shifter issue, but they told me they found that bulletin and addressed that already. So : once I have a working truck again hopefully it won't happen anymore.
Well thanks for that. I hadn't scoured the internet much since I first had this issue and made the video, looks like that bulletin came out a while afterwards. Cheers!
