    Ram 1500 2023 etourque - junk

eTorque was first implemented on Jeep vehicles starting in 2018. It was advertised as providing fuel economy and towing benefits, but I'm sure it was primarily introduced to help FCA (now Stellantis) meet fleet fuel economy targets. Years ago, I posted reports compiled from Fuelly that showed...

    Ram 1500 2023 etourque - junk

FWIW - it added $895 to MSRP when I ordered mine in May 2018 (not that I paid MSRP). Knock on wood, but no eTorque issues in 5+ years and (an admittedly modest) 58k miles.

    E torque alternator.

eTorque also adds regenerative braking and smooths out shift points, per engineering vids.

    E torque alternator.

I’m just surprised nobody is remanufacturing MGUs yet (that I’m aware of). Seems like it would be a money maker. Knock on wood…no issues with my ‘19 eTorque HEMI.

REV vs Ramcharger - who would buy a REV?

I would think a huge number of fleet trucks used by contractors "around town" would never come close to pushing the range limits, even if carrying contractor gear and/or pulling a small trailer. I wonder if Ram will target this market with a stripped-down Tradesman or Big Horn REV equivalent.

    Falken Wildpeak

I didn’t know you could spec the 22” wheels with the ORG. I had the OEM A/T3Wa 20” tires on my Longhorn, and they were great. They still had some life when I replaced them at 56k miles. I now have A/T4Ws, but only because the A/T3Wa has been discontinued. These are more aggressive, only slightly...

Ramcharger moved up, REV pushed back

The RamCharger is about the only thing that would tempt me away from my current rig. Pie-in-the-sky thinking, but a hydrogen / electric PHEV seems like the ultimate solution. Zero emissions (aside from water), unlimited fuel reserves (presuming plants are constructed and distribution expands)...

    RamBox question…

The Rambox divider is completely different (and much more solid in the way it locks into the sides of the bed).

Horrible First Impressions - Huge Fail

Good overall review...but it sounds like you've had some seriously bad luck on the build quality of your truck. Hope your dealership and/or Firestone gets you squared away sooner rather than later. After some small teething issues (all under warranty, years ago), our early-build 5th gen has...

    Input on AT tires

I went with the Falken A/T4W XL in that size to replace the (discontinued) OEM A/T3Wa. So far, so good. Slightly heavier, slightly more capable, plus a 65k mileage warranty. Still evaluating impact on economy, but I’m expecting a modest drop.

For those with Off-Road Group Package - Questions

It also depends on whether you have the air suspension. The ORG and air suspension balance each other pretty well on rough roads, in my opinion.

What are these and why are they broken?

Yeeeessssss. Now I have to go inspect mine...

    Wildpeak at3w XL

Mileage and ride will be better on the XL tires. I bought a set of OEM A/T3Wa tires online through Discount Tire, as they had treated me well for 6 years / 55k+ miles and I didn't need the fuel economy hit of heavier tires. After I'd paid for them and arrived for my appointment, they informed...

For those with Off-Road Group Package - Questions

    1. My 2019 came with the Falken A/T3Wa tires (275/55R20). They were quiet, rode smoothly, drove well in all conditions, and lasted 6 years / 55,000 miles for me. I just replaced them with Falken A/T4W XL tires in the same size. The new tires look good (a bit more aggressive), ride well, and...

Stellantis recalls 1.5M Ram trucks to fix software bug that can disable stability control

Same for my 2019 (received today). Hasn’t affected me in the past 6 years, thankfully.

Falken Wildpeaks AT4w vs HT 02 , possibly Rubitreks

I ordered a set of A/T3Wa tires (OEM replacements) through Discount Tire last week, only to have them call this week to tell me they actually shipped a set of A/T4W (XL) tires in the same size due to the others being backordered/discontinued. We ended up accepting them at no extra charge, saving...

Falken Wildpeaks AT4w vs HT 02 , possibly Rubitreks

After 6 years and 56k miles, my OEM AT3Was are finally getting close to needing replacement. They still have good tread depth, but the edges are showing wear, and I’d like fresh rubber before this winter. Given their excellent performance, I’m having another set put on at Discount Tire this...
