What did you do to your Ram today???

I really thought and was hoping my 01 trans would've failed by now so I could tear it down and see something, but I'm still waiting for it to fail.

What did you do to your Ram today???

That and the bed cover, looks good. Will or should it help with fuel mileage?

What did you do to your Ram today???

You are right I don't have proof of anything for keeping this trans cooler, but I have seen thousands of plastic parts, rubber piston seals, Teflon seals and more get heat sycled to death and very low mile failure. What I'm going to find out is if the temps are lower will they live longer...

What did you do to your Ram today???

Still don't say why, what will happen. How about this, as I said I'm doing it to find out why not just let it at that.

What did you do to your Ram today???

I've been a builder since the 80's every transmission I built to run cooler has lasted longer then the vehicle it was in. Show me some data, show me something that has gone wrong so I can see what happened. I'm not going to listen to oh it won't work because this guy or that guy said that...

What did you do to your Ram today???

Absolutely, temps are short term effects, I'm very interested in it's long-term. I have been working on this for awhile so far all I can say is I haven't had a problem running amsoil trans fluid in, about 53k miles and counting. Truck has 128k on it now with all amsoil fluids.

    2025 1500 with transmission issues/disappointing

There is a tsb to refresh the tcm for the 25 model year. But that needs to be determined if it applies to your specific truck.

Sorry guys, I cheated. I work for the dealership I got my ram from. It came to me.

What did you do to your Ram today???

I think, and of course can be wrong. He was more talking about people disagreeing with what I'm doing with no real experience in it or saying hey I've tried that, it didn't work and this is what happened. But again I could be wrong.

What did you do to your Ram today???

Lol that reminds me of the time I raised the line pressure way to high. First it broke a carrier bearing, fixed that. Then it snapped a u-joint. So I had to back it off... it's a fine line between enough and to much pressure. Lol

What did you do to your Ram today???

Also the cost of a new trans, now getting up to around $7k to $10k. I want it to run cooler and last longer.

What did you do to your Ram today???

Yes, a clutch plate has been the same for as long as I've been building transmissions. They are a organic material. A clutch pack is made to slip as its applied, that gives a less harsh shift. But also causes heat and wear by the slip. When people say they put a shift kit in or now with...

What did you do to your Ram today???

Well no one can say what will happen at a lower temp, I can't even say because I haven't tried it. I know what the design is and how it works. Take any recall or tsb for any part or system, is the recall or tsb wrong because it was designed the way it was?

What did you do to your Ram today???

Very true, but I've never seen a transmission get damaged because of cooler Temps but have seen plenty damaged by hotter Temps.

What did you do to your Ram today???

Well you're talking to one. The trans is shifting exactly the same as before. I had to Google it, condensation will evaporate at any temp over 32 degrees F. I'm sure with conditions tho.

What did you do to your Ram today???

The transmission is now in the 130 degree area. Also I flushed out the zf 8&9 speed trans fluid for amsoil fluid. That was changed out about 53k miles ago. Forgot to mention that. Next will be a large trans cooler. The truck is not tuned yet, I want to get it mechanically the way I want then...
