Done. 20 more minutes with the ozone machine for good measure. Now license plates and I have my new (to me) truck back!
Thanks for the help/support all.
If anyone has problems, hit me up, I am an expert now. LOL
Okay, the carpet is in, the console in. The seats have been steamed, back panel as well. All trim pieces cleaned.
Waiting for them to dry then reinstall tomorrow.
Grabbed these for piece of mind: Amazon.com
They are small stickers that go on the rear glass in the corners. If there is ever...
this time I pried up the plastic strip that runs down the roof a little and put in another half a tube. I'll let you guys know if it works. All the interior pieces are just about ready to go back in. (fingers crossed)
Awesome.. Super cool story!
Once I get it back together if I still have any smell issues creep back I will give that product a try. Thank you.
(My fun story: I have a 99 VFR. V4. I told my wife for a decade it is a special bike, she always rolled her eyes. We drove Route 66 a few years back...
UPDATE:
Ok, so cleaned the rear window channel really well and let it dry. I used two tubes of the Permatex windshield flowable caulk. I cut one tip medium and one tip small. I used the larger one for the corners and where it could fit and the smaller tip for the tougher areas. I could see it...
Cleaned every inch of the inside today. Did the rust inhibitor on some of places I see surface rust. Went pretty well. Even the headliner was a breeze to clean.
Tomorrow is the fix(es) themselves and Ill do the ozone.
The carpet REEKS. The foam padding was soaked, probably for weeks/months... no idea what's growing in there. The wife has lung problems - it's just not worth it. I have a steamer, but not sure it will go through that thick carpet and foam. I have the carpets laying in the sun for two days now...
The truck runs fine, everything works as expected. I think I dodged that bullet. The only thing I see is the silver box under the drivers seat (not sure what it is seems to have some white moldy corrosion on it. Will brush it off and wipe gently with the white vinegar. Once the leak is solved...
yeah man... really sad... funny I have an 06 2500 and it was so much work all the time, I got this so I would just have a worry free vehicle so I could focus on doing other things... lol
Got some white vinegar solution to wipe everything down. Rust inhibitor for the spots of rust. Will run the ozone machine for an hour after.
Waiting on the permatex and butyl tape. Will do the light, the screws (careful not to overtighten), and the shark fin. Then do the window itself. Probably...
Hey all. First post here.
Bought a 2022 diamond black night edition with 22k miles. Quad cab. v8 no etorque. Drove it with temp tags on it and parked it for 4 months while I went to my winter home. Came home 2 days ago and it was SOAKING wet inside and reeked of mold. Took out all the seats and...
