I just noticed this and wondering what it is. It’s on drivers side mirror only by the lights underneath the mirror. I see the area on my buddies truck but no grey piece like in mine. What is it?
Gotcha. No I was thinking to raise the back after the front Bilsteins to keep a rake. Thanks for the options though. I’ve been trying to find posts on here about people replacing their springs but I can’t find much on Icons or Tuftruck stuff.
@Jeffjad Hellwig got back to me very quickly. Said if I was still able to tighten the bolts down it should be fine. Sucks I got the one weird manufacturing defect I’ve seen on this entire thread though
So would I be able to use Icon 1.5” springs with bilstein 5100 shocks? So I can’t use stock shocks with the Icon springs? Can you not run stock shocks with the spacer either then?
@Jeffjad below your washer there seems to be a good 1/4” of space but mine is on the curve of the C shape. It didn’t matter which side is up or down, correct?
I just started my truck and I know there’s weep holes in the exhaust system but it’s coming from the front, bottom of the muffler and since my truck is on an upward drive the water is rolling to the back of the muffler and dripping off a lot. Leak or normal? I took a video but it won’t let me...
I’m trying to decide between rear Bilsteins, small spacer or the 1.5” Icon springs. If anyone is using the Icon springs how’s the ride compared to stock? I’m being told by some guys Bilsteins won’t lift it an inch and others say it will so what’s the final word on those too?
@steve1982 also can you use those springs with stock shocks?
@myles can you keep the stock shocks on with icon coils? Opinion on Icon vs Tuftruck? They both have 1.5” springs.
@steve1982 thanks for that info! I think I’m going to go Bilsteins all around and I’m not towing much right now but I’ll consider those in the future for sure. Can you get an inch of lift in the rear from Bilsteins? Instead of using a spacer for now.
Just installed mine. Only things I noticed are the stock washers I put on slightly cut into the rubber coating of the frame bracket Hellwig supplied and the sway bar is now lightly touching this line in the picture. I didn’t use a torque wrench, just went until I felt a decent amount of...
@LaxDfns15 sorry I saw that after and forgot to delete my comment. So I’m going with front Bilsteins after talking to some guys and lifting to the 4 setting probably to level the truck. I was thinking about going Bilsteins in the rear too in order to lift it 1” and keep the slight rake. I can’t...
@LaxDfns15 did you do the 2” or 2.5”? I’ve been reading max is 2” and that .5” is having people go nuts. I know this is going to stress the UCA anyways so I’d rather put the least amount of added stress on.
