I just got the status from the dealer. It did not take two weeks to build, and it really has not been shipped. Here is what I see...
Here is what the dealer sees...
I called the dealer last night. They are going to call the NorCal distribution center today. He said they should have more insight into the delivery status.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, my original order was placed in January. I wanted to add the Bed Group, but the dealer could not add it...
This is my first Ram, and the whole build process has been frustrating. They built my Laramie three weeks ago and still haven’t shipped it. You would think there should be technology available to watch the build in real-time and be updated for every step of the process. (Though, I can guess a...
Is 2025 the first model year with hands-on and hands-off self-driving? I only see one vehicle with either form of self-driving on a dealer lot in the inventory. My built Laramie with hands-on self-driving hasn't shipped in over two weeks. The dealer claims that they do not know the reason. It...
My salesman told me that a non-refundable deposit was illegal in California. He didn't ask for a refundable $1000 deposit because it would have been a waste of time and paperwork.
It's been almost a week in the "Vehicle Built" status, and it is not in either online inventory. Maybe custom orders don't show up in the customer-facing systems.
I got the email for the completed build yesterday - five days after the build completed.
I was losing hope, but they did build my Laramie, and today it has a window sticker. It has everything I ordered. I did not get the hands-off driving option, but it has the active driving assist. So it does have the parts that are in short supply. They are building them, just not as fast as we...
I just checked my order online a bit ago, and the status changed to "Vehicle Built" on 4/30. It still is not in either online inventory. Hopefully, it will show up at the dealer in the next few weeks.
I was notified that my Laramie with Level 2 was being built last Wednesday (4/17). However, it still has not shown up in the Being Built inventory. I assume both online inventories are not kept up-to-date. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to appear online. Currently, the delivery...
I honestly don't trust anything a salesman says, but he did say they come in through a port in CA. I didn't question him at the time, but I'll follow up on it now that there is an estimated delivery date. It seems crazy that they would not use rail. I guess it is possible that the rail...
The status of my Laramie Level 2 / Adv Safety / Tow / ORP / Night changed to "In Production" last night. The estimated delivery date is 7/1/2024. I am on the West Coast and was told they come by ship. That may be the reason for the long transfer time. This truck was ordered in early March. My...
Neither of the Ram site's inventory lists shows my truck, but my dealer's website does. The Ram order tracking does not show a build date, but it says it is in the production queue. My dealer says my truck is shipping on April 23rd, so I am hopeful the higher trims and advanced options are...
He said the clearance is tight, and caliper placement fluctuates enough that 18s don't fit on many newer 1500 trucks. Custom Offsets probably received too many returns, so they are now telling customers to not even try. That doesn't mean 18s will never fit. It's hit-and-miss and costly to ship...
I really wanted 18s for my 2025 Laramie, but after talking to Custom Offsets this week, that doesn't seem possible. They said the recent 1500s are just too inconsistent with 18s. The same 18" wheel will fit some 1500s but not others, and they no longer recommend any after-market 18 on a new 1500.
