Front end clunk while turning - FIXED - TSB # 23-047-18

I’m done with this specific thread. First off I would say I’m the one who guided you in the direction of the a-pillar body mount being the source of noise anyways. Weren’t you the one who asked for the torque spec? Good luck everyone on finding your repairs for your noise. Direct all questions...

I’m not trying to be condescending but I’m a FCA level 3 tech I know how to torque these bolts. I completely took the isolators out put them back in and torqued and noise was still there. Noise did not stop until I “modified” the body.

They can see a star publication. They can’t see a star case.

I 100% know that tr I can say 100% certain that just a torque would not have fixed mine because I did torque mine and it never changed. So I kindly disagree that it is the fix just to torque them. I’m certain the star publication I performed on my truck corrected my truck.

The paint is not rubbing off the bracket side. It’s on the body side. Sometimes it’s just discoloration in the spot. Also if it hasn’t done it long enough it won’t be as noticeable. I can’t get the isolators without a customers vehicle needing them. Our parts department won’t just stock a part...

Because it’s not a part issue. It’s a stamping of the body problem. There’s a couple spots where parts of the body get spot welded together and it leaves a high spot in the channel. Causing contact with the reinforcement bracket.

I can check again when I get home. Been at fiat training all week. For some reason 88 foot pounds is sticking out to me but I’ll check.

It’s not concerning. It’s just how the system works. It’s just ****ty dealers who won’t do work based on a star publication.

I will be shocked if this gets released as an actual TSB ever. You will be waiting a long time.

I’d use the term popping under left floor board at feet. Then describe when it happens.

The best way to rate a dealer is talk to the tech that is working on your stuff. Unless the service advisor was a former tech most of them have no idea what they are saying. I get there’s some dealers just looking for a quick buck. And could care less about customers. But I treat all cars and...

Hey not all of us are bad seeds haha. I bust my *** to make sure customers get their cars fixed at a fair price and fixed right the first time. And if I see someone else try to screw a customer I put a stop to it. I apologize that a few bad dealers have ruined your experiences.

If they replace the isolator might as well do the publication at the same time in my opinion. They will have access anyways.

All vehicles are case by case in my book. And there is no word from FCA that shims is an approved repair. The repair I performed on my truck is what is considered their approved repair.

Coming from a dealership side of things FCA would not post a publication without knowing it has fixed a significant amount of vehicles. If your dealer isn’t willing to chase a concern with a publication then frankly you have a ****ty dealer. If the concern in front of me duplicates a publication...
