I added some pinstripes to my 'pavement princess' when I took her off-road on the Soldier's Pass trail in Sedona, AZ. We went to the parking area for the Seven Sacred Pools. On the way in, I visited with the driver of one of the pink tour jeeps coming out - he was a little reluctant to tell me...

So I went to Home Depot this evening and I'm all happy because I'm doing truck stuff with my pavement princess ;-) I get my lumber loaded into the back, climb in and start her up (love the rumble - every time). Then, I notice my screen says software update in progress - 44% done. What the...
I had the same concerns as some of you about the 22" tires having such a short sidewall, so, I bought a set of Rebel 18" takeoffs. With the (50%) Wranglers on them, I don't feel as though the ride is any better than the 22" Pirelli and the noise is significantly more. So, I'm currently...
Since I started this thread, I want to share that I decided to go with 18" Ram Rebel wheels. The story with pictures is here: What did you do to your Ram today???
I have to admit I do like the look of them. If I wasn't sure I'd be going down some washed out two-track road some day in the middle of nowhere Montana, I would probably keep them. If you're in the Phoenix area I'd consider selling them to you...
I paid $600 - a little more than I wanted considering only about 25% left on the tires but I wanted to get it done. And, I figured I would probably be changing the rubber soon anyway.
I just put a set of Rebel 18" takeoffs on yesterday. You can read more about it towards the bottom of this page: What did you do to your Ram today???
Before the swap:
I just put a set of Rebel 18" takeoffs on yesterday. I posted before and after pictures for comparison. Even though I don't do much off-roading, I do a little, and was very uncomfortable with the narrow sidewalls of the 22's. I love having the extra 2" on the 18's. I thought the ride was good...
I've got a copy of the Vehicle Shipping Order which gives the weight but that is a good point about the extra 200 lbs of fuel. That's certainly part of it.
The dealer claims he didn't change them and I believe him. The bottom line is it doesn't really matter what happened. I should have noticed the difference when I bought the truck but didn't. I don't really mind being 'stuck' with a free $2000 upgrade but may want to change the setup at some...
That's my main concern or the same thing with a rock on the occasional 2-track road. It's nice to hear you like the ride with the 20s - that's probably the number one thing for me.
Yep, but either way I'm thinking they would want to charge me the upgrade. Changing to 20s is the debate I'm having in my head but will probably just wear these out first. I'm still trying to figure out why payload would not be GVWR minus net weight of truck. The tires are rated over 2500 lbs...
So, I just bought a new 1500 Limited Elite and am loving it. Spending this much on a truck, I wanted to get exactly what I wanted. You can imagine my excitement when I found exactly that at a dealer who just happened to be right on the way home from my vacation spot in Montana, along I-15, on my...
