    TRX Steering Wheel Swap

As I read through this thread. I’m so happy I checked the GT box, when I ordered my Ram Rebel. Looking forward to installing my TRX steering wheel. Hopefully my work schedule will open up, and I can get this done soon.

Probably would make great tow straps.

Kinetic rope and soft shackles recommendation

I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the options. I like Bubba Rope, because they are manufactured in the USA. Rhino is a great US family owned company, but their gear is made overseas. Doesn’t mean it’s not great stuff. I just prefer, and am willing to pay a little extra, for US...

    Full Float Axles

Wranglers are fantastic at technical go slow off road. IFS Trucks are better for go fast off road.

    Full Float Axles

Thanks!!! I’m going to upgrade. Ram rear axles can’t handle aggressive off road driving. This is a known issue, in the off roading community. I have been off roading with a friend when he broke his axle. I have a different use case than many on this Forum. I understand the push back. I...

Kinetic rope and soft shackles recommendation

I’m a big fan of bubba rope. Didn’t even know this company existed, until I attended an off road recovery class. https://www.bubbarope.com/ I would keep to soft shackles for safety. No reason to use old school shackles these days. Their mother company makes rigging supplies for industrial...

    Full Float Axles

You are correct, the TRX has Dana 60 (aka Spicer M250). TRX axles are too wide, and you can’t change gearing. PM if you are interested in why. I’m exploring multiple options. One option is to pull the trigger on a custom Ford 9” built for the Ram DT from an Australian company: ARB locker...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

This thread has been very interesting. Providing many positions to consider. I love the respectful back and forth sharing of ideas. I for one like the numbers I see from the new I6TT. I’m very interested in the future release of the RHO. I’m just not sure I can give up that V8 sound. I...

12v to 1500 DT bed location

I have a couple Anderson connectors in the bed of my truck. My truck is built for overlanding, so I need to powers 50L ARB refrigerator. I ran mine behind my Ram-boxes. There was a OEM penetration, I used to pull the lines in. Be sure to use the proper AWG. I would also recommend a...

    Aftermarket lockers

I’m with you, the power output is incredible is some of these builds. I’m shocked that the front ring and pinion doesn’t instantaneously grenade. But it seems to be hanging in there. Maybe AAM got a sneak peek at one of those flying sources they say the government has. Using some outer space...

    3D scanner

Are there any hi tec types that have access to a 3D scanner? Hoping to get scans of older Ram 1500 front differential carriers. To determine compatibility with our 5th Gen trucks. I know this is a shot in the dark. But it would answer the question finally, if we have a path to changing gears...

Anyone ACTUALLY running 5w-30 or even 10w-30? Thoughts? Experience? Any REAL TRUTH to throwing a code running higher weight oil (no conjecture please)

My Father in law worked on the engineering team in the early 2000, that designed the third Gen 5.7 . He was very insistent that the only reason they changed the weight of the oil, was for fuel economy. I thought it best not to question him on this. He was the Mechanic Engineer, I’m just an...

    Aftermarket lockers

I’m working on guidance on how to change gears. I just need to validate in the real world. We have the Chrysler ZF 215 from AAM. Ram started installing these in 2012 to present. Ram didn’t start installing the problematic one-piece carrier/ring gear assembly until 5th Gen, in 2019. My...

    Aftermarket lockers

Not that I can find. Selectable lockers are really hard on axles. It may be a bridge too far for anyone to build. I think a limited slip would be the best we can hope for.

    Aftermarket lockers

I have done more research on this. AAM build both a IFS 8.25 and a solid axle 8.25. Eaton only builds the TrueTrac for the rear end. But not all hope is lost. I found an engineering note, about reconfiguring a TrueTrac from rear axle to front axle. I have a machine shop looking into this...
