2019 RAM 1500 w/ 133k miles developed a tick on startup around 75k. Truck is now sitting at dealership needing a new engine. Lifter & cam failure in cylinder 8.
Nope, just one that makes it worth what we are paying for it. You pay 50k for a vehicle. You expect it to last well over 200k. That's all I am trying to get across here. RAM should honor and stand behind what they build.
Hey All,
2019 Ram 1500 here. Has 133k miles on it. Just same issue! Truck has been running great no issues until I got the service engine light and P0308 code. Changed sparkplugs and coil packs but still continued getting P0308. Took to dealership to be checked. Told I have an...
There is several on this website that are having the same issue at 35k, 50k, 75k. There are multiple reports of failure again even after changing the engine. I'm hung up on the fact that this product has defects and the manufacturer is not taking responsibility. Leaving the unknowing consumer to...
Engine was running great. Just the tick at startup that would go away after a minute of warming. Would error (service engine light) at about 50 - 55MPH. Engine still ran fine normal sounds. Just loss of power from misfire.
Engine made normal sounds, no noises at all like that. Even up until...
This is not about just me. Trying to understand why nothing is being done about the known engine issues. Yep, Shame on me for not doing research before purchasing. If I would have known that there was an issue out there affecting RAM models year 14-20 with complete engine failure. BELIEVE ME, I...
Yes, as far as symptoms. But I'm being told that the lifter failed and damage was done on inside. I asked if they could replace or rebuild internal instead of getting a new engine. They said no that it was shattered inside the engine. That's why I need a new one instead of rebuilding.

Yep, I remember those days as well. Vehicle cost was significantly different. You paid for what you get. I can live with that. Most vehicles now days last 12-15 yrs as long as they are maintained. Blows my mind that engines are having to be changed in these RAMS at 50k , 33k, 119k and mine at...
Big boy pants attached! So in 21 & 22 you couldn't find anything new on lot. Best they had on lot was 19 & 20. Has nothing to do with financial means lol. So according to your answer. Your good with a 60k base vehicle only lasting 150k miles? Before replacing engine? Come on man! Not talking...
Hello All,
I have a 2019 Ram 1500 limited. I purchased from dealership in April of 2022 as a Certified used vehicle with 73,511 miles. Truck currently has 133,706 miles. Great truck with no issues, all Maint. done on time and records for that. Truck developed a tick on startup...
