Thanks for that. I used the MOPAR and added the MOPAR limited slip additive, I just don't know if I got enough in there. I measured out 5 oz but had to put it in one of the larger MOPAR bottles and then pumped it in. After I topped off, I noticed there was still maybe a couple of oz of mixed...
What's the downside if there is not enough MOPAR friction additive in the rear diff with limited slip. In other words, if I didn't get a full 5oz of the friction additive in the rear fluid, what will happen?
I just noticed the Valvoline 75W90 gear oil I got for the front diff has Limited slip additive in it. Is that going to be an issue for the front differential?
So, from the answers I got, it appears just a filter and replace fluid is ok and avoid a flush. That being the case, how often do I need to do that? If I want a complete flush, I need to make sure the shop doesn't use a separate pressure pump to do it. Is that right? The pricing I've got...
Question: I was going to take my Ram into a ASE certified mechanic I use and he told me he would need to flush the transmission to get the fluid out of the torque converter. Is that not the case? Asking because you said not to flush the tranny. Thanks.
Ok, thanks for the reply. I'll get the Redline. I use 4wd a lot since we live in the mountains and have snow frequently. Also, I use auto 4wd to come up our driveway, even if there is no snow because of the steep incline.
I see you use Redline MT-LV 70W/75W GL-4 for your transfer case. Is your transfer case a 48-11 with 4wd auto? Any issues cause I'm getting ready to do my first transfer case fluid change? Thanks.
I went by our local RAM dealer today to get some pricing on front and rear diff fluid change, transfer case fluid change and transmission fluid change. These are the prices quoted today: Front/rear diff fluid change $420, Transfer case fluid change $240, and transmission fluid change $1000...
So, thinking about using the MOPAR 75w140 with MOPAR friction modifier in the rear axle since I have LS and the Valvoline 75w90 in the front axle. It would be my first change at 57000 miles and looking at the space for the front axle, getting a bottle positioned in there seems a bit dicy where...
I mistakenly bought "high mileage" full synthetic oil instead of just the full synthetic oil. My 2019 5.7 has about 52,600 miles on it. Just wondering if I should return/exchange for the regular full synthetic oil or just use the "high mileage" oil? I still have 41% oil life on the last...
That's good to know. I don't have any sway due to the Andersen WDH. My wife is uncomfortable with the squat of the already low profile tires. So, if I bring the tires up to 51psi while towing, it won't be an issue when the tires get hot and the psi rises?
So, I have a question about tire psi when loaded. I have the 285/45r22LX which call for 36psi cold and maximum 51psi). I'm close to capacity on cargo when towing our travel trailer which has a tongue weight of about 800 lbs (my particular truck has a cargo capacity of 1385 lbs). My question...
you are correct in that moving the hitch back to the second slot does increase the force of the pivot or leverage. I asked Andersen about it and they said it was ok to do so, but I do notice how the front end of the truck now seems to be a bit lighter. That being said, it still pulls ok, but...
I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem, but can't seem to find a thread on this issue with the Ram tailgate while towing. So, with our new travel trailer, the tailgate will only open about 12"-14" connected to the trailer. If I extend the receiver hitch out to the second slot, then...
My 2019 Ram Limited 4wd, 5.7 bed came with the 26 gal tank. I use this truck as a tow vehicle and was thinking of swapping out the 26 gallon tank for the 33 gallon tank. Does anyone on here know where to find the 33 gallon tank and about how much it would cost to do the swap and if it would fit?
It turns out it wasn't the temperature that got to 253 degrees it was the oil temperature that got to 253 degrees. I was looking at the wrong gauge. Does that seem right?
