Mine just started making some noise at 53,000 miles. I tow a lot but am generally easy on brakes in terms of wear though they do get hot. I think I would have easily went over 100k on the pads and likely wouldn’t have had any issues with rotors if I didn’t tow so often. They weren’t exhibiting...
Interesting you found a 22 without E torque. That was said to have died in the 21MY. I picked up my 21 at the end of 21 and figured that was the last of the last non E torques. Mine is a 3.21 (non LSD sadly but has auto 4x4) and I regularly tow 4000-4500 lbs near max payload. I go down into the...
I just noticed a little residue on my 4x4 actuator. Figured I spilled a little on the last change but I’ll take a look at that sensor next weekend.
Also, I use the oil udder XL for the filter. It stays put and is large enough to fully turn the filter upside down to drain before removing it. I...
I have witnessed mine tow in 8th for a bit but that only happens when I forgot to click on tow haul and am already at speed (IE turn on tow haul when I’m already lugging along in 8th). As soon as it needs to down shift it won’t go back into 8th again even when decelerating. I figured the 3.92...
My 3.21/5.7 non E torque does great. Plenty of power but I never intend to tow anywhere near max trailer weight on this one. 3.92s would totally be necessary for high wind resistance type towing imo. With the older transmissions I wouldn’t have considered anything but at 3.92 but this truck gets...
Weird, mine will let me brake stand it to get one started. Non limited slip but it‘s balanced pretty well and will smoke both if the road is level and in good condition. Only tried it twice just to see if it would do it. Currently approaching 54k miles on the stock Goodyears with meat left. I...
I just turned 100 idle hours at 53k miles. I only remote start if the truck is iced over badly. Otherwise, I just remote start 30 seconds before walking out so it’s idled down and not going into gear at 1200 rpm’s.
My “base” 21 bighorn came with the following that the 22+ does not as “Standard”.
-Painted door handles
-Auto 4x4 T case (I think even the BH Level one still doesn’t get this)
Basically all a base BH gets you over a Tradesman now is badging/nicer seat fabric?/Nicer door panels/dual exhaust...
The factory tires aren’t the Alenza plus. I exclusively ran the + tires on my last 3 (4 sets) trucks and get 60-70k and I tow a lot. They have great wet traction and are smooth/quiet with great economy. They trick you because the non + look identical to the + model. Sadly, Bridgestone is phasing...
My truck unfortunately doesn’t have a rear limited slip. I let it slide because it was an unbelievable buy in 2021 and has auto 4x4. I use auto on boat ramps and getting into traffic in slick and wet conditions where a limited slip would have helped.
I‘m still in powertrain warranty and wanted...
Changed the fluid in the T case last night. What came out looked great. Bit more color than the stuff going in but clear as a bell.
With all the clutches inside I’ll likely continue to do a 50k interval along with the rear end at 50k.
Front diff was so new and clean I’ll probably start...
Out of stock. I actually just found a dealer here locally around lunch with 8 quarts and I paid out the nose. Will look for a better solution on the next fluid change.
Happy Monday dudes. So, I just flipped 50k on the 21 and wanted to get my driveline fluids changed (big towing run in January coming up).
I was planning to stick with all Mopar for warranty purposes and simplicity. I’ve found it’s basically impossible to get the Mopar fluids at the moment...
Maybe someone accidentally poured something into the overflow tank ? Take the radiator cap off (when it’s completely cold) and see what the fluid actually in the pressurized part of the system looks like. That’s 10 year 100k mile coolant. My 21 is at 50k and you have to try hard to see the...
At 47,331 my last oil change I had 90 idle hours. I’m on the highway a lot and don’t let my truck idle unless I’m moving trailers around the barn lot etc. I remote start almost every day a minute before walking out so the truck is idled down and not going into gear at 1200 rpm’s. I might let...
The older 02-08 tailgates would do this too. Right where the cables connect to the gate (but on the visible side). Something inside moves and I always figured it was from guys letting the gate slam down instead of letting it down lightly. My 2010 never did it but I didn’t let the gate slam and...
