I hear you about the drilled rotors. I used the slotted ones on my old Sequoia when towing a pair of SeaDoos. Had to really lean on them 3-4 times and didn't notice any discernible fade. Now I occasionally tow a 24' trailer weighing 6,500+- lbs. One of the fronts is starting to warp. 80k miles...
Need to replace front rotors & pads. I've had good luck with Power Stop in the past but it appears they are now made in China. EBC is made either here or UK. Never used those though. Is there another source I should consider?
The dealer will probably ask for your VIN in order to get the correct glass. I thing I paid about $125 for mine installed.
And I'm not going thru one of those car washes with the spinning brushes ever again. That's what cracked mine.
I'd try an adjustment first, but the housings are different also.
Just a rant----I wish it was a requirement that if you get a lift, a headlight re aiming is required. I can't tell you how many times I've flashed someone and get flashed back with their highs - it's always a lifted truck. If you...
No problem, it's kind of difficult to realize others intentions without a crystal ball (mine fell off my desk and shattered in the 1994 Northridge, Ca earthquake) My background goes back to the 1960's (I'm 73). Every vehicle I've ever owned has had some sort of performance modification, until...
No sarcasm intended BL. In my experience, modifications are a continually evolving process: I was just trying to caution you to stay away from something that in my experience, is a do-nothing part; it does nothing to add power or fuel economy. You will defiantly lose fuel economy if you use the...
True, but the OP seems ready to take a jump to headers and possibly a cam. He already has a throttle body spacer, exhaust mods and a CAI so he's on his way.
I had one on another vehicle......IMHO, it's the most useless way to spend y our $$. All it does is change the ratio between pedal and throttle.
I'd spend the money on a good aftermarket tune that optimizes whatever you want to.
Makes sense. At work, I park with the left side facing the sun in the afternoon. I've come out to temps showing 125+ degrees. Tires on drivers side also 1-2 psi over passenger side. When going thru a car wash, it can go down 20+ degrees.
I was very happy to get rid of the stock Bridgestones. The Michelin Defender is an order of magnitude better. I'm using the 275-55x20 LTX M/S2 (stock) size though. I run 38lbs front & rear but when towing a 5.5k trailer I bump up to 44/48. No issues when towing.
I'd like to see them take a 426 or 440 and put modern electronics on it. There are probably enough of us old folks that would buy "just because".
Ford did a redo of the 460.
