This is actually my concern. I am going to the old "measure twice, cut once" and measure it a couple more times before I get started. I'd actually like to make sure I leave just a little rake like you said.
I am about to do 5100 Bilsteins on my Rebel with 65k. Stock shocks and struts are basically done. Doing the pre-measurements, I am coming up with 3" of rake with the factory shocks/struts/springs. Does this seem right? The goal with the 5100's is to level the front.
Level pavement, measured...
This is sort of baffling. There's only a few culprits:
Etorque (start/stop generator alternator)
Belt Tensioner Pulley
Idler Pulley
Coolant Pump
AC Compressor
Did they check the last two on the list? They've been known to make noise. I had an AC compressor make noise on another vehicle. The...
The etorque is the alternator on those trucks. You'll hear a lot of confusion when they order the parts. Some will tell you "alternator" some will say "start stop generator." The reality is the etorque is both the alternator and start stop generator.
In short, your etorque is getting getting...
Everything is easy on the ED lol. The transmission pan/filter and fluid change takes 50% of the time because the crossover pipe for the exhaust is not in the way.
Out of curiosity, what is your plan? Are you just going to sand out and treat the rust spots? I would consider something preventative like this myself.
Depends on the truck. Chrome bumpers on a Rebel? Nope. Color match on a Limited? Nope. I think that's why they make so many options. In addition, I think if I had something like a 3500/350 series truck for road towing, I wouldn't mind chrome accents and bumpers. I'm 40.
My father has a 2006...
As a lot of people have said, you're probably OK. Whoever did the change didn't clean up after. Where the filter sits, when the old one is removed, it dumps oil all over the steering rack, into a frame cross member, and if the truck has the ORP or is a Rebel it can go into the skid plate. It's...
This sounds like something that should be lemon'd. I'd be looking to have the truck replaced with what you wanted, free of charge. Or at the very least go through the entire lemon law process.
I really appreciate it. I must have a slightly different sized hitch. My hooks are almost the same size, maybe a 1/16th" smaller. Which is probably all the difference? Maybe the switch factories and/or the design.
Changing out my chain hooks would have required cutting them off, pulling the...
Well, I have basically the same hook. Maybe the one I have is a smaller series. I'll try again when I get home tonight. Would you mind measuring the overall length of that hook? I might just have to buy a bigger one. Really appreciate it.
