I seem to remember that the nav radios also have (or at least it's available) FCA's equivalent of OnStar. Whateverthehell it's called.
It would almost have to use a cellular connection. Is there an unused antenna connector on the radio? If not, I could picture it being built into the "shark...
Okay... so my 8.4 non-nav radio has two antennas. Broadcast and XM. (Which the XM antenna would probably work for GPS, too, if I had nav. Or maybe not.)
So how is this thing supposedly transmitting? And to what? I really have my doubts.
And an OTA upgrade, if it even can be received, can be...
My 48 was measured to the left of the instruments, in the corner.
I usually leave the thermometer in its plastic "pocket clip / sheath", and it wouldn't fit through the slats on the center vent.
Well... I have been following this situation, on and off, for a while now. I still have not talked with the dealer.
But I suppose the fact that I can get 48 degrees F, at the vents, with upper 90s ambient, would indicate that I should sit down and shut up, and count my blessings. (It takes...
Sorry if this has been posted. I looked around, and ran a search, and didn't find anything.
I have the 20" Falken Wildpeak tires on my 2019 Ram. I just had to replace the two rears at 25K because they were worn to the point that I wasn't comfortable driving on them anymore. (One was down to the...
I need to replace the rear tires on my 1500. (The Falken Wildpeak A/T3WA)
My local tire guy can get them for like 20 bucks cheaper than Discount Tire. Yeah buddy!
(Roy's Tire. Carrollton GA.)
It really started way before that. I had a friend who had a mid-70s Toyota Corolla, with a 4 speed. If you tried to down-gear to slow down, the d@mned thing would try (poorly) to rev match whatever speed and gear you were doing. When you finally got to a stop, it would idle the engine down...
It's an emissions thing. Revving it up and then dropping the throttle quickly causes all sorts of nastiness (thinking NOx, maybe?)
If it slows down gradually, that puff of whatever-the-hell-it-is is eliminated.
I get it. The temp sensor is in the mirror. Unless the truck is moving, it's going to read high, if it's been sitting in the sun.
My question is, Why? Why couldn't Ram put the stupid sensor behind the grill, out of the direct sunlight, where everyone else puts them?
If my truck had heated seats...
Purchased in June of 2019. ~22K on the odo.
The only real issues I've had with mine are with the entertainment system continuously resetting when I plug my iPod Touch into the USB. It worked okay, once, and the next time I drove it, it started this resetting BS. They ought to do better than...
It's a flashing red light in the cluster that lets you know the alarm system is armed. (The alarm system will work without it, but it's nice to have the indicator that it's active.)
Wow! Lots of info since I last posted here, after activating my trailer brake controller and security alarm. Lots of reading to "catch up".
A couple of quick questions....
The new version of AlfaOBD... will my Android device automatically update it, if it's internet capable? If not, is it a...
It's actually easy to do while driving. Just punch the "Gear limit" buttons on the bottom right of the wheel. Keep pushing until you are in "8", but not "D8"
This limits the highest gear you can select. Putting it in "8" leaves all the automatic shifting as normal, but locks out MDS.
When you activate the alarm, you also have to turn on the security indicator light. (I forget what it's called.) It's been a while since I did mine, but I believe that's right.
I also activated my trailer brake controller, after I bought and installed the kit.
It really amazes me.
I am on the side of the buyer but, legally, I believe the dealer doesn't have to do squat.
With that said, I can't imagine that the dealer wouldn't want to pay for a $2-300 repair (probably their cost, maximum) in order to keep in the good graces of a long time customer.
