I have never heard of having the door switch panel without having the folding mirrors. It has always been (to my knowledge) the requirement to do the full replacement (mirrors, door panel, and modules). Easy way to figure it out is to check the modules of course, but you have to take the door...
I have been unable to get the heat to work on my new mirrors without using ODBGenie or Tazer. I have not tried to use those as I don't want to pay more than $100 for this. I don't believe it's that important. Your dealer will NOT be able to do it. Many have confirmed this. They can't add codes...
Can you confirm/deny if you had heated tow mirrors before? If not, do you have heat now? If you already had heated tow mirrors, you should have heat without having to do anything. I want to confirm you can do from unheated to heated after the ODBGenie. Thanks! Glad you got it done. $800 isn't...
I wondered the same thing. Why is the passenger so different? All I can come up with is the angle. It is farther out and not having that far right edge be normal mirror makes all the difference. It's the elimination of the fish eye and the replacement of just a few more inches of regular mirror...
There is a whole series of threads going about tow mirror changes, but the most general one is https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/replacing-my-tow-mirrors-with-power-folding-10-cyber-monday.4103/
It starts out with the Infotainment option of buying a full conversion kit from them then...
Looks like two to me. I am confused though because it looks like 48 is blank in the space right below the pink fuse in 47 in the circle, but I have the rain-sensing wipers. Either way, I hope the photo helps.
This has all been explained many places in this forum. Yes it is easy to do and it costs about $500 to replace mirrors one for one with no other changes.
See https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/replacing-my-tow-mirrors-with-power-folding-10-cyber-monday.4103/page-18. On page 18 is where...
I think the auto-folding is due to programming in Tazer if that is what you mean. I am tracking the standard system would be to push the button on the door panel every time you wanted to fold or unfold them.
Great recap! I just did the mirrors so far. Debating if I care enough to get the modules and ODB Genie for power folding. I do, however, want defrost. Did you happen to have the all black tow mirrors without heat before upgrading? Want to verify you got the heat working with ODBGenie. I read a...
They are power fold capable with module change (and software/ODBGenie) as far as I am tracking. I have seen many people use these and update the modules and flash the BCM to work. I didn't do it myself which is why I caveat my statement.
I can confirm the JDM ASTAR Extremely Bright 2000 Lumens 360-Degree Shine 921 912 90-EX Chipsets LED Bulbs For Backup Reverse Lights, Xenon White that you have in the original post do indeed interfere with my key fob.
If I have the tailgate open or any door open, I can't use the key fob. When...
I have not seen a write-up, but it's not the same as in the infotainment video. 2019 has the door handle still attached and the cables going from the door switch. Also a bunch of the plastic joining pieces (not sure what they are called). The 2018 was as simple as remove bolts and pull. Not so...
Did NOT replace modules and BSM works. Makes sense since it worked before. New module only adds power folding ability from what I can gather. BSM, heat, puddle lights all function with one module. I just plugged the new mirror cords right into the same place on the module. Pretty easy actually.
It isn't the same concept as simply turning off the engine manually and back on again like your friend is suggesting. There have been cars using this tech for many years. They figured out the right materials to support the frequent starting and stopping I think. It's too simplistic to assume...
For sure. Right after I got mine, a guy who just bought a 2018 within a few days came to check out my new body style. He got his after the 2019s were out and got a good deal so he went with the older one thinking it was not a big difference. I think he had a lot of buyer's remorse when he really...
