Oil filter is Mopar 68466307AB or WIX WL10255XP and is the same as GM's 5.3 and 6.2 LS.
It's WAY!!!!! easier to do a oil change than a 5.7 Hemi although it takes 7.5 quarts of (0W-30, 5W-30 or 0W-40) do not use 0W-20.
Advantages to the 3.0L over the 5.7L when changing oil:
1. You can get to the...
You forgot about the awesomeness of the tuner era. The 2003-2005 SRT4 or 2008-2009 Caliber SRT4 they were awesome. SRT even offered turbo toys for the SRT 2.4.
AlphaObd can alter it for model years prior to 2025. The factory enables the limit based on the vehicle purpose and tire type/speed rating.
For instance the TRX is 118mph with my 3 vehicles the 2025 Rebel is 104 mph, 2024 Wrangler Rubicon is 93 mph and the 2021 Scat Pack Challenger doesn't have one.
Oil changes on the Hurricane are easier than the 5.7 I don't need ramps and the oil filter can be prefilled.
The only trick I've used is to put a 12" x 6" tray under the oil filter tilting back into my drain pan to keep the oil from dripping on the frame and it works perfectly.
Interesting note...
If they want it they will get it. Ram recognize this issue when passive entry was not included in the Rebel Level 1 equipment group along with not including Security Alarm. lol
Even with the keyfob in the house thieves use a signal repeater to get into your vehicle and start it as If you are inside your vehicle.
Turning off passive entry will eliminate that possibility since the vehicle is not listening for the signal.
I first noticed this too last week when I start the truck there is a buzzing sound then the screen freezes. Press on volume button to reboot then it's ok.
The only good thing about this update is it seemed to fix Off Read Pages always showing the transfer case displaying "Locked" along with the...
I've been running 5W-30 in my previous 5.7L and current 3.0L SO.
The 2.0L in my JL Rubicon calls for 5W-30.
I think 0W-20 is about gas mileage not engine protection also 0W-30 would be a great option too.
